Interesting.
When the topics fall upon party or ideological lines certain posters in this forum have a very strong opinion.
When it comes to how it relates to us as members of the GLBT community regardless of our party or ideological lines:

Hell, I'd be the first one to brag about how much I'd been doing to change this ideology within my own party!
I'd even go so far as to share how hard it is, and the details of the obstacles that I've personally encountered, and how certain "conservatives" don't reflect my views as a conservative Gay Male.
But where talking about Republicans; fuck your mother to get elected at any cost. The GOP and it's enablers.
The same group that couldn't stand for something so they decided to fall for anything even if it meant vilifying the Gay American's within their own midst.
The same political party that couldn't honestly stand on any real principle, but during it's history had to rely upon the likes of Jerry Falwell and his "Moral Majority" (Which even then was neither!), to get the likes of Ronald Reagan, and G.W.H. Bush elected.
Now it looks like the Republicans are relying upon CPAC, and the the "Tea Party" movement to maintain/regain power.
And for what?
The GOP doesn't have a tract record of doing a gawd-damned thing for the middle class.
Study American history since the "Civil War" and I challenge anyone to come up with a decade, an era, even an administration where the Republican Party was ever an advocate for the "middle class."
The GLBT Community are some of the last and complete converts that they've yet to completely win over.
And why should they win us over?
To try to win a "majority" of us over from the Democratic Party or as Independents they'd have to alienate nearly all of their
so called "Christian" base to get us there.
To win the "minority" of us over from the GLBT Community they only have to keep doing what their doing; promising less government, and fiscal responsibility, while promising their so called "Christian" base "god, guns, and country" while make the rest of second class citizens.
"Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner" must resonate with a lot of "self-haters" out there, because I've yet to read more than two self-described "Gay Republicans" share anything here about how difficult it is to be "Gay" AND "Republican" in this Forum.
Oh, and my "conservative" favorite cousin from East Texas thinks that I'm the shit.
And she would say, the "liberals" just aren't as accepting and open minded as she is.
And then "play the victim" as if to illustrate her point.
WTFE
I'm sure that the new chair of CPAC weighed the numbers and figured out that he could scare more money out of the so called "Christians" within his party, and the self-professed "conservatives" and make good with that promise than any luck that he might have with "the gays" within his party. As if "the gays" live on his block.
