Personal opinion not bad but not as cohesive as the previous model dont like the black around the screen as it makes the bottom bit stand out all black would have been nice and slightly thicker than the current one to get rid of the chin the keyboard lets it down alot

something like this

would have worked perfectly with the design

aluminium mouse coming up?

also have my money on coloured imac by the middle of next year

nice, I was waiting for this!
I'm never going to use that keyboard though. too thin, looks like a laptop keyboard.

Sexeh!

The keyboard isn't my kind of keyboard but I know people who will love it.

I gotta go check out the keyboard cos mine is toast. Serves me right for not covering it when the drywall sanding was happening:(
It is supposed to be tactile which is a good thing. Apple used to make gr8 keyboards prior to the USB ones. Note to anyone going for the wireless one. You will still need a regular one to start in Safe Boot or to do anything at startup time cos bluetooth isnt recognized immediately. So dont throw away the old one.

the pricing is very good on the new ones.

Do they also do them in matt black too? I don't really like cheap-looking shiny white plastic things.
But if they looked a bit cooler, and I had the cash, I'd love to try a Mac.

^ The back's all black. You can't really tell from the pics, but they aren't white - they're aluminum and glass.

I like the black border trim on the monitor because it draws your eyes more to the screen than the actual computer itself.

I might actually get this. But I want to wait until it's preinstalled with the new OS.

Getting mine next week. My first mac :)

That's awesome. Let us know how it goes - I'd especially love to hear from everyone who's bought one if they have a problem with glare. I was thinking about upgrading, but I'm really concerned about the glossy screen.

personally, I don't see much difference btwn this and the last imac, just a thinned out keyboard and and pretty black border on the monitor, nothing major (on the oustide at least, I'm to lazy to look at the new specs right now) like btwn the previous mac and its predecessor.

I'm getting one when I get back to Miami on Tuesday. :)

As far as the glossy screens...yeah, probably not right for some people, but for most I'm guessing it won't be an issue. I don't plan on putting mine in front of anything like a window or lamp, so I'm figuring I should be fine.

I'm glad they started using aluminum and black, rather than the white again, for the iMacs. This'll make a nice complement to my black MacBook! :)

Here's the difference in specs, btw...courtesy of ArsTechnica's review of the iMac, which can be found here

The Monitor is the whole cabootle— the Superdrive is in the side of the screen, and the speakers for stereo below the screen. What you see on the post is the entire computer, there is no separate CPU. But man does it have the goods.

I never said that the monitor wasn't the whole "cabootle," I recognize that fact, all I said was that this imac doesn't seem to have made any major intuitive innovations, like apple has done in the past with it's computers.
