New Joss Whedon Drama Coming in Jan - Dollhouse

finally got a chance to check this show out last night. i enjoyed and Eliza Dushku is playing that role obviously i've missed a bit before this episode. but from what i've seen I could really watch this one every week without fail.

I love Dollhouse. Josh Wheadon is such a good writer and creater. I can't wait till we actually get to see Alpha, they are really hyping up that he is one bad mother. I agree that last nights episode with the whole cast was great and I'm sorry but Sierra and her accent made me drool lol.

Loved tonight's episode.

The revelation to Paul that Mellie is November was a great scene, and probably the best...well second to watching Dominic get his at last.

Wasn't a big fan of Victor's accent. People trying to pull of an English accent always makes me cringe (especially Denzel Washington's appauling attempt in IIRC For Queen and Country....my dad was watching it on TV, and it was pathetic...but getting off topic, lol)

Overall, it was a very good episode.

I'm loving this show. I loved what Echo (as a Dominatrix) said about SM!

I really hate the people who run the Dollhouse. Topher is so cheerful about the terrible abuses he's committing...I was really hoping Echo would wipe him last week. Would have served the (admittedly cute) bastard right.

I'm hoping Sierra gets to kill the guy who sold her to the Dollhouse. Please note: Sierra is NOT a volunteer. And neither is Echo, unless you count "you can do this, or spend the rest of your life in this room" as volunteering. I'm really hoping Paul can at least hurt them in a major way, if not bring them down entirely.

Tonight I almost felt sorry for Dewitt. But it faded quickly. Ruthless bitch. I want her to be turned into a Doll, and set up so her real mind is there in the background, watching helplessly as she does whatever she's programmed to do. Would serve her right.

I want to fuck Victor into next year!

Of course, Fox deals very stupidly with this kind of show, and it's in danger of being cancelled.

Last night's was incredible. They actually made the head bitch feel... human. It was so cool to see her end up being Miss Lonelyhearts.

And I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Dominick. He may have been shipped to the attic... But he can still escape if Alpha makes it so.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Paul Ballard is going to turn out to be Alpha (and unaware of that fact himself).

I'm probably wrong. But it WOULD be a Whedonian twist.

Well.. you're wrong. lol The head people of Dollhouse know about Ballard. They would have said something about him being Alpha. Besides, Alpha is active and running his own little game off to the side.

And rumor has it (and he is credited for it) that Alpha is being played by the actor who does Wash in Firefly/Serenity.

I'm speculating based on what's in the show. And you're bringing in outside information by way of spoilers. Bad you. [-X

And...as for "they would have said something," not necessarily. Remember Mellie is not November, and they speak of them separately. Besides, this is JOSS WHEDON we're talking about!!!

And fond as I am of Alan Tudyk...I don't think he has the looks to be a Doll, frankly. Maybe he was done up all goofy for Firefly (in which he was superb), and he'll look a lot different for Dollhouse, but...compare him to Tahmoh "Holy Fucking Shit Will You Look At That Hottie" Penikett. You know.

And I don't see a credit for Alpha on IMDB. Where did you see that?

Wow I am SOOOOO glad this show has picked up. The past two weeks were so much better than what has come before. Especially last week. I think making De Witt a client was a stroke of genius as I'm glad Ivy wasn't the mole because I had suspected her from the beginning and I enjoy being surprised, which I thoroughly was.

I'm so up for Seictor. It's just adorable. Millie is probably still my favorite but in general I think the characters are all becoming much more full except for Caroline and Topher that is.

It has been removed. But either way, Ballard is definitely not Alpha. Why would they be looking for Alpha when they know exactly where he is? lol

Apparently there was also a set photo that showed Alan standing around. Or at least it looked a lot like him.

Good point, but maybe he's altered his appearance and even the Dollhouse doesn't know he's Alpha. Maybe he doesn't even know himself!

But he's looking for the Dollhouse. I guess now that I think about it it doesn't make a lot of sense.

So maybe they'll have another hunk actor play Alpha! I vote for Ben Browder myself. Unless he's too old.

Well apparently Matthew doesn't have to be shocked cause Dollhouse doesn't look to be making it past season 1:

"Dollhouse is unofficially canceled, and officially fucked. Actress Felicia Day (nerd goddess and star of Dr. Horrible) just twittered that her Dollhouse ep was going straight to DVD... which was also the episode which revealed Alpha and the season finale. So sometime between now and May 8th, Dollhouse is going off the air, almost certainly for good. And another Joss Whedon shows bites the ignomious dust."

Personally I wont morn the show. At one point I like it but after the 4th episode I just seemed to forget about it. Then when I finally got around to downloading it (live in England so its not airing here ... possibly ever) it just stayed on my harddrive, myself not caring enough to watch it.

My friend did the exact same thing, it just doesn't seem to be that interesting. However if anyone would like to burn down Fox studios I will join you because I'm still pissed about Firefly.

Well, that sucks. I was really getting into it. Well, at least the season finale will be on DVD.

*sigh* I don't know why I even bother getting involved with new edgier shows now. Unless it's another reality competition, the chances of a new show lasting more than one season is slim. I'm awaiting the announcement from Kings now.

*adds another top show to the list, right under Pushing Daisies* ](*,)

I heard Felicia Day's twitter was a little misinformed. There were a total of 13 episodes of Dollhouse that were filmed, but Fox is only airing 12. But that missing episode was actually the original pilot, which fox was not happy about and was not going to air anyway. So the real finale will make it to TV....well, that's what I heard anyway.

I've read some more and it does seem to be a bit confusing. Apparently they've filmed 13 episodes, of which one was never meant to be aired but just released onto DVD. Now this is either a marketing ploy to sell more DVD's or Felicia Day's Twittering wasn't to Fox's liking so they've came back with this strange excuse. If its the straight to DVD one then surely she would have been told this BEFORE filming?

According to this IMDB page, 12 episodes will air this season, and the 13th one isn't currently scheduled. This is in addition to the unaired pilot.

Take this with a grain of salt, however: there are several obvious errors on this page.

Okay, this is the deal.

Fox commisioned 13 episodes of Dollhouse. They actually made 14 episodes. Fox counts the unaired pilot as one of the 13 they ordered, so they're skipping the final episode, which is named "Epitaph One". This episode is standalone. Episode 12 - "Omega" is the true season finale whereas episode 13 is more of an epilogue.
Episode 13 will be included on the DVD and will perhaps be aired when the show is syndicated.

So, the fact that Fox won't air the last episode has nothing to do with whether the show is cancelled or not.

Having said this, I'm very worried that the show will not be renewed. I think that Fox can blame itself, at least for a big part, for the lack of viewership that Dollhouse has garnered. They put it in the Friday deathslot, they refused to give Joss free reign over the show until episode 6 (and is there honestly anyone here who does not agree that the show became a lot more kick-ass after episode 6?). Still, they treated the show better than they did 'Firefly', which is probably one of the best dramas to grace our TV screens.

I just hope that they'll give 'Dollhouse' a chance and give it another season. They should know by now that cancelling a Joss Whedon show prematurely is not a good idea. His shows tend to gain a cult following and perhaps they don't do too well during the initial airing, but the DVD sales are always through the roof ('Firefly' did so well that they made a film for crying out loud!). But I won't hold my breath *sigh*
