Up until the past couple of weeks, I was able to easily go to various websites (either Hulu.Com or a TV station’s website) to watch TV shows and movies online. From the time I found the link to start a movie or TV show, for the past 16 months (roughly), the movie or TV show started playing within less than 5 seconds of me clicking the link. Yet now, whenever I click on the link (to start the show or movie), 90% of the time, only the viewing box downloads (the viewing box that appears where the movie or TV show will play onscreen. . . unless I use the maximize screen option, to fill-up the entire monitor screen with the viewing box). So once the viewing box appears, it just remains black and it just seems like the download stalls. So now if I want to watch a movie or show online (it does not matter if it is in the morning or noon or night), it takes about 10 to 15 minutes of constantly re-clicking the movie/TV show link before the movie will play. I thought that maybe it might be too many people on the server during the evening/night (the time of day when I originally discovered this problem). . . thus is why I tried it at 6:00 AM in the morning and the early afternoon . . . yet I still have the same problem.

I have a Pentium Samsung laptop computer (which I got brand new as a Christmas gift in December 2011) with Windows 7 loaded on it . . . It came from Costco and it cost almost $800. Other than now having troubles trying to get online movies and TV shows to play on this computer, I have not had any other problems with this computer either related to doing other online activities or doing non-internet activities. It has 90% free disk space on it. Also, I have basic Time Warner Cable (for Internet only) . . . that I have been using to watch movies and TV shows online and surfing online (on this same computer since 2011 . . . but I never had troubles until now).

Any thoughts of what my troubles might be?

I have Charter Cable and it does the same thing - only with Charter I can see a difference in time of day.

Youtube usually loads quickly - but TV shows - it will often just hang, especially 7pm to midnight. I have had them replace the full drop line to my house and my modem - but it still happens.

I am quite sure it is your cable company not your computer...

Thank you for your feedback and input, Jjonn3. I appreciate it very much. ..|

Kulindahr, I have never heard of “Project Free TV”, but I will give it a try and report back. Thank you very much for sharing this link with me. I was surprised to find some of my favorite Logo TV shows on that website. COOL!!! ..|

I should make a warning: be VERY sure to go to the one with the .me -- there are imposters that are very dangerous to link to!

And some advice: have a pop-up blocker running....

Kulindahr, I’m sorry for taking so long to give you an update. Due to a heavy work schedule for over a month, I fell very far behind in my email and I have been trying to catch up on my email for the past few days.

Well as it turned out, my partner tried to gain access to that website (http://www.free-tv-video-online.me), however his computer would not let him gain access to it and his computer gave him a virus warning. Yet since my original posting, it seems that the problem I had has now fixed itself, because now I am able to download and watch videos and TV shows (via Hulu and TV network websites) with no problem now. So I’m glad that the problem resolved itself.

Thanks again, Kulindahr. I appreciate your help. Again, I apologize for taking so long to reply back to you.

I suspect the virus warning is because of the imposter sites. The only malware trouble I ever had connected with the .me project free TV site was accidentally clicking on one of the pop-ups from one of the sites where content is actually hosted -- all the .me site itself does is serve as a linking service to connect the user to places where content is hosted.

That's why it's important to have a good pop-up blocker and even an ad blocker: the host sites are required to be safe, but there's no guarantee about any pop-ups.

But the imposter sites are another story -- the one that comes on top in a google search for "project free TV", projectfree.tv, is IMO nothing but a malware trap.

Hey there Kulindahr. I’m sorry for replying back to you so late. For some reason, JUB does not always send me an instant notification (the way I have all of my subscribed threads set up) to the threads that I subscribe to, when there is a new reply added to the thread. I just happen to be looking for one thread in particular (in my subscriptions) this morning, when I came across this thread and saw that you had replied to it on July 15th.

Kulindahr, thanks again for your feedback and help. Thus far, my computer is downloading videos, movies, and TV shows with no problem. I’m so glad that things are back to normal. :gogirl:
