New X-Men Cartoon

Yeah, but that's the direction of modern day American animation for you...All straight edges, sharp angles, and minimized detail.

I thought the characters looked "extra-pointy" too, but didn't know how to word it properly

At least they seem to have Emma's cleavage on point...

Which on a side note, is one of the things I'm most excited about (Emma's addition) how she's going to be around the other characters, she's like the anti-Jean/twisted Xavier, but just as capable & intelligent...I know she and Kitty aren't the best of friends, so hopefully they'll incorporate that...I don't think she & Storm are "buddies" either

it took her a lil while to grow on me but i'm glad alot of people like Emma. i was kinda put-off when she started the relationship with Scott--even though i wasn't all that fond of Jean, but Emma's one of my favorite characters right now.

They are always making X-Men cartoons and none of them ever last long.

Beast serves a good role as the intellect, which is why they probably keep him around and Nightcrawler can be written as an easy way out if they're ever in a bind.

They probably don't have Jean because she's not in the comics right now. I've already explained my issues with the Jean/Scott dynamic that I feel it's best for her not to be introduced as a Phoenix character ever or as a love interest for Scott in new material.

But, I would love to see some characters (beyond Emma) who are major X-Men universe players, but never got animated or real-life screen time.

Psylocke is one, Northstar, Polaris, Jubilee (despite her recent mutant depowering/reenpowerment), and Canonball to name a few...

i'd like to see Polaris get some much needed spotlight. wouldn't mind seeing Cannonball's sexy ass either...and yes i used the term "sexy-ass" in referance to a comic-book character.

Don't worry, you're not alone. Post in the "Comics" thread some time and you'll see you're not the only person crushing on those fine-ass panel-boys.

Northstar for the win!

You know, none of the cartoons have lasted seemingly as long as the 90's X-Men cartoon...or had as detailed plotlines. Is it a style thing? I hope not.

Nothing wrong with Guthrie's country ass...he is some top X-eye candy

if he was a better actor i always though Alan Ritchson would make a good Cannonball in a live-action film. what do u think?

And since we kinda took it there already, ComicVine does a ranking of user votes for different stuff involving comic characters & in Attractive Male category:

1. Angel (X)
2. Gambit (X)
3. Nightwing
4. Batman
5. Havok (X)
6. Iceman (X)
7. Northstar (X)
8. Cyclops (X)
9. Captain America
10. Superman

Thats 6 X-Men in the top 10, Cannonball #26...pretty damn good I think. And of course Ms. Frost #1 for Attractive Female beating out Rogue, Jean (ha), & Psylocke

Complete list 1-99:

It just seems that way...Evolution lasted four seasons and X-Men itself (from the 90's) lasted five.

Also, Jubilee was one of the major characters in the first series. That said, characters I'd like to see more of Psylocke, Forge (beyond the teenaged one), Sage, and I think everyone wants to see more of Anole...

RG

Unfortunately, we all know that Anole would never exist in his honest-to-the-books form, just like any possible mention of Wiccan and Hulkling will disappear in whatever "Teen" Avengers cartoon movie Marvel's making...

X-Men is like one of my all time favorite cartoons!!! But I will not watch this piece of crap. Not only are they focusing on Wolverine AGAIN (I really like his character but enough is enough...*yawns*) but they're taking away one of the very best X-Men characters and closest persons to Wolverine...STORM!
I mean, they're not even being intelligent. How can you make a whole cartoon focused on Wolverine and not include Storm in it? Who the fuck had this "brilliant" idea? *rolls eyes and nods head*
What a bunch of stupid fucks!!! I'm pissed off. They're ruining one of the best cartoons ever...

I will say this...

As an X-Men fan (Obsessive) for the past nearly 20 years...

I hated the 90's cartoon....

1) The animation was horrid...ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...
2) The stories, although trying to stay true to the comics, skewered most of them with inanity and banality.
3) The voice actors were just plain bad. ( A QAF actor did the voice for Gambit.. and BADLY)
4) I felt absolutely no connection to the characters. No emotional bond to them the way I do about the comics or any of the other medium they were introduced to.
5) They totally fucked up Sinister, who is my all time favourite villain.

That's just 5 reasons why the 90's cartoon sucked... as opposed to Evolution which spent way more time developing the characters, made a grade A effort to breath a different aspect into something but stick with the original concept, had animation that was static ( by which I mean the characters didn't go from 12 feet tall to 6 feet tall in different angles), Had excellent voice talent, and introduced way more interesting secondary characters... Not to mention that Spyke was a better character than Morph.

I look forward to the new series even if it does focus a little much on Wolverine... but you have to remember... Wloverine is Marvel's cash-cow.

lol...settle down Fucker!!!

LOL! It was the shock of the moment. I was just venting cause I was already disappointed with X-Men Evolution (the majority of the episodes were pure shit with the exception of a few that were actually incredible). I might give this crap a...well...crappy chance...hence "might"! lol

It's because Nightcrawler and Shadowcat are personable characters. Psylocke and Gambit basically stand around and ooze sex appeal and cool. They're basically back-up Wolverines. Why do you think people like Gambit and Psylocke: "S/He's so cool! S/He's so sexy! S/He's so badass!"

While I like the characters, they don't have much depth beyond being ultra-suave and in control and looking good.

Kurt and Kitty are relatable characters. That's probably why they're always included.
