Ya kinnda need a scorecard theses days just to keep up with the pitching staff.;)
Wright cracks me up with that tongue thing, he has said it is a habit he has had as far back as he can rememeber.

Mets/Braves rained out last night. :( make up will be a double header in mid May.

Thanks sonny....he's so adorable when he does it!I just am a little shell shocked the Braves rocked John Maine today after such a great spring training and the Mets lost 11-5.:(

Ten games, that's great!Maybe one or two for myself,my brother and sister and her fiance...we usually do that every year. You seem to have bought a great package.Braves Phillies,Rockies,Diamondbacks... terrific matchups!I can't even fathom the prices of just the good seats anymore, they're going into the stratosphere ,let alone the really privileged ones...but it does feel good to get to see a game occasionally and be a part of a day at the ball park experience because there's nothing like it!:D

i have no prob sitting upper deck

love to sit behind home plate or at least between 1st and 3rd

can pay as little as $5 per seat that way - my whole 10 game package - mostly uppers/some mezz - for 2 - cost $400

guy in tix office says that in the new stadium, the box seat prices r gonna soar

and that there will be more field seats so season tix holders who get upgraded will really pay thru the nose

that instead of 4 levels there will be 3

should be great

Another wasted strong start as Oliver Perez goes a scoreless 5 and 2/3 innings and Steve Schoenweiss and Aaron Heilmann cannot hold it and crap up the joint!:mad:Again, little offense and the same bad habits that led to the collapse last September are showing signs of resurfacing, like a top of the order that is doing next to nothing!I know it's early and it's where you finish that is important, but I would love to see a more dynamic offense and a reliable bullpen help back up the mostly solid starting pitching the Mets have received so far.

I am beyond disgusted. I felt yesterday's game was ruined by the same old tired offense and piss poor pen. My God, it's the first week of '08 and it seems like the last week of '07 same ole crap:grrr:
Perez wAs good, but he only went 5 and then went into his meltdown, dazed and confused just like last year..
The pen sucked, The offense sucked, and The table setters, failed AGAIN!
Reyes is still in the slump he left in '07.
So far, all we got is decent starters, rather good actually, AND THAT'S ALL!

It was great to see a packed Shea, letting the guys know we have put last year behind us and we are there for them. To bad the Mets are still in 2007.

I am a major Mets fan, I will never give up on them. But they are making me crazy.

Fortunately for me, my many NY Yankee fan friends have not been giving me any crap, cause their team ain't doin much better.
Subway series?, right now.....I don't think so.

And I know it's early...April 9 is not the time to go into panic mode, sonny. But Heilmann was dependable for the most part last year, and now he's anything but!:grrr:I really did think Minaya was too conservative in not esentially changing the culture of the team after last year's collapse and was too forgiving(not in not trading Jose Reyes,I still don't think that shouuld happen but in not adding a few grinders and 100% guys who would help keep things from being put on cruise control )

And Abs,if you say anything about the Cards,I swear I'll..I'll..oh hell!oops!,you know I'll still (*8*)you!;)

Oh I am not in panic mood, just frustrated.
The Atlanta games were bad enough, in game two after Smoltz left, we could not get arrested. The yesterday we were beat by Moyer :help: How old is that guy anyways? I read, he once walked into an antique store, and they tried to keep him. We should have gotten to him. I think he won 13-14 games last year with an ERA of about 5
By the way, I believe, of course the guys will stat hitting, no doubt about it.
BUT I am beginning to wonder about the pen, AGAIN!
Like I said, no problems with the starters, especially Santana, Maine will be back strong I am sure of that. Lets see what Pelfrey does tonight. But he if goes less than 7 we will be in trouble AGAIN!

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, nor pour salt in your guys' wounds...

It can definitely be frustrating. I see that in sonny's post above. It sucks when you love a team so much and you would think putting a toddler out there with a glove sometimes could do better... But hey you just scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 3rd! woot!

I won't hijack this thread and make it about the Cards ;)

Oh and sonny - that picture of David you posted? I want him to sit on my face, just like that...!oops!

HEY HEY HEY

You ladies keep your hands off my David.
He's mine do you hear, MINE! :p;)
He's on David Letterman tonight!!!:luv:

Besides, you missed a great weekend in St. Louis....well,not weatherwise but people wise, anyways!:pYou got to come to one of these meets soon, you know!Seriously, the feeling is indescribable, and the people are tremendous.Something like this you'll never forget.Oh God,so much more fun than the Mets this past weekend!:##:In a way,I am so glad I missed this.I was reading today's New York Post about how this club is mirroring the one that collapsed last September and was bounced from playoff contention.

Willie's angry,David's angry....who the hell else is?If this is what the Mets of 2008 attitude wise are headed, then I'd rather see the competitiveness and effort from a unheralded underdog like the Cards(btw sonny, abs I took it upon myself to visit the new stadium after arriving at the hotel Thursday and got a number of shots, including the new entertainment/retail village location)than a cluelessly arrogant, out of touch Mets club assume their way again into a title they'll never get.I'm disgusted. You can't win every game,I know that and have posted that before. But you can't win unless you play like you have a chance to win EVERY night.Don't mail it in,don't phone it in,don't act like you have something when you never deserved it in the first place...don't screw the fans again, ever!

Well Met fans ya gotta be happy with last nights game. Good to see them above .500. And, yes, I understand it was only the Marlins, :D but Pelfrey showed us he can do it more than once, Sanchez is back and lookin good, could be our #8 man. Heilman, did ok, he can have his good days and at least he got through the inning without causing any damage. ;) Great to see Reyes come back full of his ole self, I thought maybe make the cycle, but I’ll take what he gave us anytime. Yesterday was the best he has played since last August, welcome back dude, we missed you. Of course, my man Wright with 5 RBI’S and a homer, third one this week. I am Still Wanting to see Lo Duca play against us. He got hit by a pitch over the weekend and his hand is a little sore. Paulie said he wants the Mets to loose every game this year, but that’s Paul just being Paul, he also said he wants the Phillies, Braves and Marlins to loose every game as well. I guess because that’s the only way the Nats are ever gonna win a division.
Milledge was 1-for 3 and was greeted by boos at every at bat. :p
OK, Johnny Maine, tonight the ball is yours.

Hey, what happened to the Sports Talk forum

We're in Hot Topics now....thank God this is still someplace!:cry:Great day overall yesterday, with the terrific6-0 win,Pelfrey's strong performanc...David Wright powering up the offense with his fourth homer and run-scoring double...Jose Reyes setting the table at his best again. Finally,a great game to talk about!:D

Also it was Jackie Robinson Day and his widow Rachel,an incredible woman was present to see the dedication of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda,an awesome gateway into the grand new CitiField.Damn the best of memories New York has to offer, and a peek at the incredible future memories yet to be made. What hope for the future!:D

All the guys wearing 42 ..|

Man was it ever great to see Pelfrey pitching well. It seems Schnider has had a good influlence on him.
Perhaps Ryan will be better than Lo Duca with the rotation. helping out the younger guys like Pelfrey with pitch selections. He (Ryan)is fitting in very well, thank you very much.

It is encouaging the players acquired in the controversial Lastings Milledge trade to the Nats are douing well.I think Church will turn out at worst to be a solid acquisition,at best a realy pleasant surprise. As long as Scneider works well with the pitchers and can get the best out of them, like is slowly proving to be the case with Mike Pelfrey, and just hits a bit...he is a big plus.

Hopefully this explosive play from the offense matched with the strong pitching will be aspretty consistent pasttern the rest of the way.
My take is one thing, which I've said before....you can't win every game but you've got to be able to play like you can win every game.Effort, discipline, motivation, pride, working together is what is the mark of a team with a winning mentality and legacy.

^ i hate the milledge trade

lastings was immature but .............

bad move

went last sat to shea and got tix to ten games this year - combo of sun afts and week nights

pretty psyched

little worried about middle relief

Millledge trade was a risk but they needed a better handler of pitchers behind the plate, and at least a solid, dependable outfielder.Milledge may be the one we never should have given away,a star with a attitude we didn't need,or a bust who never had the discipline to develop. It remains to be seen.

I hope you enjoy the games you're getting out to,chance.Probably only going to one or two this year with my sister, her fiance, and my brother. It's going to be a really interesting year, this last at Shea.
