Mets Lets Go 2015
Today all I want to write about is updates on Davis,Wright and Reyes.
If you read my stuff you know I have been keeping you up to date on Ike just about everyday, and this weekend was going to be the big test on his ankle. Well over the last few days I told you he had had very good success on the treadmill running with a thingy on his ankle as not to put full weight on it. It started Thursday when he ran the treadmill with about 45 pounds of support, then Friday he dropped to like 35 pounds and that went very well. Yesterday he put his full weight down on the ankle with no support and guess what?? NO PAIN! So it is looking more and more like he will recover and not need the surgery. The big teat come tomorrow (Monday) when he will run on the track and if that goes well he is going to be well on his way to full recovery. So everyone send positive vibes to the Ike man for tomorrow. I am betting he will be up at the crack of dawn so we should know very early tomorrow how it goes, I cant see him sleeping much tonight. I just wondering if he will get thru the day today (Sunday)without getting tempted to try running, the plan is to wait until Monday morning but Ike is just so hyped up on how well it has been going I jus don’t know if he will hold out till then.
David Wright ran at nearly full speed in Port St. Lucie, yesterday and expects to start full running and sliding on Monday, if that goes well he will begin on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game. He will need in the area of 30-40 minor league at-bats before his activation.
Jose Reyes has also been doing really well, you may recall I guessed his return to be about the 22nd and now that looks like a real possibility, he started taking grounders and swinging a bat on Saturday.
What all this adds up to is the return of all three of theses guys very soon; expect Wright to be back right after Reyes on the 22nd after some rehab games and Ike could be right behind them. We still have to wait for Ike to do that crucial last test running on the track and then see the doctor to have some pictures taken and get a full diagnosis on the ankle but then if it all goes well Ike can start resuming baseball activities and rehab.
Oh happy day.
Ike’s ring tone on my phone is the Stones “Start me up” and you can bet I am waiting very anxiously for that next call. While I may be far down near the bottom of the list of people he will call he has promised to call just about everyone he knows with news good or bad.
Check lout this video he made just a dew days ago.
