Nintendo Wii Owners

Actually the Wii can show off better graphics than the original xbox,

Na, I don't know. Look at the "Far Cry" version for XBOX 1 and Wii. It looks horrible on WII, most lighteffects are missing and the maps are smaller. It really hurts to see that.

If your arguments were true, a port from a less powerfull xbox 1 to wii, should still look great, shouldn't it?

It SHOULD. But FarCry was obviously a rushed attempt from Ubisoft to make some quick money. As I said, its the developers that yet have taken their time to use Wii's true power. Ubisoft has been supporting the Wii a lot, but sadly most of those game have been ports from last gen, and of bad games, instead of starting from scratch.

But there are two truths about the Wii right now: Developers didnt expect it to sell as well as it is doin, so now they are catchin up and developing games from it. And second, they must get used to the new idea of the controller after being used all the time to standard controllers. So the good game are coming, we'll just have to wait for them a lil more.

The same actually happened with the DS. At the beginning not many were impressed with the graphics when compared to the PSP, and the DS go loaded with stupid casual mini-game type stuff, simply because developers were trying to get used to the touch screen. Suddenly though a whole new market was born and the DS started selling like wicked, and it still does. And now the DS has a crazy amount of support. A newer games have been improving their visuals too. I can only expect the Wii to be the same. And it already looks like it will.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to bash the Wii, i Love it ;) But I don't think is fair to compare the Wii to the PS3 and then say: "Oh my, they are both New Gen consoles, but wait! THe Wii is half the price of PS3".

Yes it is, but for half the price, you get half the features, like no DVD support and so on.
The other new gen consoles aren't game consoles anymore, they are this multimedia thing, playing and doing everything.

Must people don't want that. They want to play intuitive games and not more. It's fine. But some people, like myself want the whole multimedia features and that's why I say you get what you pay for :)

No one is bashin really, but I had to clear that stuff out. But yeah, nowadays u cant really compare the consoles cuz unlike the previous gen, there's many more things that set them apart from each other.

So when are u gonna add me lonestar? ;)

Everyone is entilted to thier opinions at the day :)

I might consider buying the PS3 when the price goes down i really cant afford it at the moment

So who knows what the top games are for the WII at the moment then?

I'd say Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Zelda are the most popular.

I just got SSX Blur, and even though the new reviews in EGM didn't think it was great, I'm having tons of fun with it. The only thing that's super frustrating is the added slolaming, and I HATE IT. I prefer racing and doing tricks.

I quite like that sports one were u play tennis and bowling.. had a go on it in the shops

Cant remember what it was called though :s

I've seen Wii demo kiosks in most stores I go to that carry electronics but I have yet to actually see anyone using them since they don't seem to want to hand out those wireless controllers and have people walk off with them.

Simple solution? Cord them. It makes for less than ideal gameplay but it's only supposed to be a demo anyway. People will get over it. I know it would defnitely have been nice to try out the system before I bought it (I would have bought it anyway though, lol)

Pianist: sure, just post on here with your wii number, and add us all to your list with our numbers.

Kismet: not yet, but I was wrong about the reviews, I just read a decent one for it. I might just get it because Sonic has a special place in my heart.

And yes, lonestar, Wii sports is bundled with every Wii.

You know what else is good, Wii Play. I have a lot of fun with it, and it comes with an extra wiimote

Since I live in Germany, the number of Wii Games is really limited: Zelda, Sports, Play, Smooths Moves, this Truck racing thing, Red Steel and Far Cry. So not that many to choose from.

I will give Red Steel a try, I really want to see how a shooter plays on Wii

We should organize something like 'create the wackiest mii' and send them to each other or something. Most of the people on my friends list have gone silent since there isn't much we can do together yet.

Finally!!! People with a Wii! I have been looking all over to register some friends. Do you guys mind if I add you? Here is my number 1979 0489 0218 4802

Well it does have Music Playback through SD Card haha, well it'll play certain formats. I use my wii to play music all the time, while i set up a slide show and just let my TV sit there cycling through the pictures while I'm busy doing other things. It's a nice feature that does allow me to play all sorts of music through the wii.

I don't miss thos e features at all. I own two DVD player besides my PS3, 360 and computers (for a total of 7). All of those things as well as my mp3 player can play my music for me. My 360 and PS3 can be the graphics whores all they want for me. So I see nothing to complain about as far as what the Wii is lacking.

When it comes to music, I usually just use my Ipod, or just play it over itunes on my PC. I will stream music to my 360 when I'm playing offline games, depending on the game.

I agree that the movie playback features really don't matter to me, since I have 3 other stand alone dvd players, 2 DVRs, and 4 PCs, not to mention the PS2, Xbox, and 360. And when I decide to get an HD format player, I'll just get a stand alone for that. I'm not buying into HD-DVD or Bluray until the winner arises and becomes standard. It'll be a while till theres anything I want to get on HD media, since most of what i watch tends to be obscure.

That's exactly what I want to say, why have 100 things, when you can get one that does all?

Well, between my husband and I, we need stuff for the whole house. I have an upscaling DVD player in my gaming den for my HDTV, a region free dvd player in the living room, and a regular dvd player in the bedroom. Then he has his desktop in his home office, and his laptop when he's not at a client site. Then there's my desktop, and my laptop when I'm not at work. :)

We *heart* technology :P

I have: WiiSports, Trauma Center, LOZ, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Rayman, Warioware, Wii Play, and Sonic. The controls could use some work for Sonic, but overall it's not a bad game. Super Monkey Ball can get frustrating, I've beat Trauma Center, all missions in every difficulty, Marvel could be better, and everyother game but Zelda are great party games. Overall i can't really complain with the current library available for it.
