Kuja, yes you can connect by ethernet. You just need the cable for that... not being sold just yet. You can also use a regular router or Nintendo's wifi thingy. The options are there, use the one that works for u best.
probable, the Wii is pretty small... it was first quoted that the Wii is about the size of 3 dvd cases stacked together and that's pretty close to the truth... just a tad bigger than that. You can make it stand vertically (which is how ur encouraged to have it all the time really with the stand and all) or place it horizontally (which honestly I never do) Discs wont get scratched or anything so dont worry.
Other recomended accesories for your Wii: SD Card for game saves and wii channels, rechargeable batteries for the wiimote (2 AAs), component cables (if u can get them).
