I got a wii on launch day, and I love it. I picked up rayman and red steel. So far I haven't had anything negative to say about the system. I love how you can send email to your wii and get messages from other wii consoles. I haven't downloaded any of the virtual console games yet but I'm getting Mario 64 soon.

I downloaded Sonic and Bomberman93. It was extremely easy to go thru the Wii shop interface, enter your credit card info to buy wii points, choose your game, download the game, and done.. you got a new wii channel. (each vc game is a separate channel) The cool things is that you can choose how to play it, with the Wiimote, GC controller, or Classic Controller. I use the GC controller mostly though when Im feeling lazy I just use the Wiimote works just as well. Another cool thing is that when you leave the game properly (pressing home and going back to the wii menu) and come back later, it will start playing exactly were you left it last time.

Good old sonic is the same ol game, short and not too hard at all but still nice. Bomberman is lame in single player, but Bomberman has always been about multiplayer and the cool thing is that 5 can play at the same time. The emulation works wonderfully, looks just as you would expect it. The thing I noticed is that besides the definition or colors or whatever, there's no real improvement on the performance of the games. The same slowdown that happened on the original consoles will happen on the VC as well. But if they were playable back then, they still are now.

What Im looking forward to see on VC: Mario Kart 64, Mario PArty2 (best mario party ever), all the Mortal KOmbats, Castlevanias, Street Fighters, Final Fantasies, Super Marios, Sonics, Megamans... you know all those beloved series. Plus, if its not too much to ask, Rare games! not rare as in hard to find, but RARE games. Like Jet Force Gemini or Killer Instinct. I know... Microsoft bought them.. but I mean... businessmen can... talk.. or something... $$$....

I hope to be getting one as well. Release is on the 7th, but I might wait a bit.

Some of my friend still believe the PS3 and 360 are better, but really, gameplay is much more important than graphics. Super Smash Bros. was very fun, even if the graphics were worse than the Xbox. And remember the PS2 had the worst graphics out of the GC and Xbox.

Don't worry, graphic is an important part of a game but not all! It's important to have fun and I know lots of boring games with a spectacular graphic and otherwise, old style or simple graphic ones which i still play!

Wii has the worse graphics compared to Sony and MS machines but Nintendo knows that the new generation gamer wants more than graphics, wants to get closer to the game. The DS was an example and Wii follows this line.

I love games because I am a player since childhood and Nintendo has been always but my side, since the first Mario game which, actually, I play usually again!

It's good to see everyone enjoying the Wii. It has made a casual gaymer out of my BF. He never played games until I bough the DS. Now he actually wants to play with Wii. We are having a blast with Rayman multiplayer.

Weird, but I guess its better if you return it and wait for the ethernet cable they are gonna release sometime next month.

question: what happens if a profi bowler with too much ummm .. swing .. plays wii bowling?

Doesn't look real to me - clearly staged. Looks like the hole was made before and the Wiimote was stuck in the gap. There's absolutely no way a Wiimote could do that without damaging the Wiimote. Total Fake!

So fake its not even funny.

Serously, the Wiimote is only as dangerous as the stupid people that do stupid things like that... if those were real. The plastic is not even that hard to make holes like that.

Does anyone have any info on availability? I'm done with Final Fantasy so there's no reason for me to stay with the Sony camp. I'll get the Wii. Yay.

Oh, and not eBay.

I'm waiting till after Christmas...thats probobly when the next shipment will be available here anyway. Total pain I know, I hate waiting that long for Zelda, espicially knowing that all my friends have it now and they won't stop talking about it. I'm considering getting the cube version on the 11th. And then compare both games after I play both.

Lol heh u sound so upset bout that.. I mean are you sure that couldnt have been fixed?

Oh well whatever. Ur choice :)

Our 'puter and Wii do not share the same room.

I don't plan on having a Lan cable running along the floor from one room to the other.

As such, we will NOT be taking advantage of any aspect of Nintendo's online service and I've e-mailed them about my displeasure. Not that I expect them to care, or do much about it as HEY! they've already gotten our money for the purchase of the Wii and games.

We were planning on taking advantage of the Virtual Console, but alas, that too is, at this point in time, a lost cause.

At least I get a refund for the WiFi USB connector.
did you try to connect with the dongle Mr piano man

i have read neumerous articles here in oz saying that you could and also people on forums who are connected using it ;)

ill have a look for conformation and will be back in a minute

If you do not have a compatible wireless router or other home networking equipment, you can connect the Wii console to the Internet using the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector (sold separately), which enables the Wii console to share a PC's Internet connection (This is the same connector that Nintendo DS owners have used to connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection).

The Connector plugs into a USB port on the PC, which is connected to the Internet, and creates a wireless connection between the PC and the Wii console.

In order to use the USB connector, you will need:

o PC (The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is not Macintosh compatible)
o Windows XP
o A high-speed Internet connection (such as DSL or cable)

Wait a second, the Wii doesn't connect to the Internet via ethernet or something? Wtf!! My computer is in my room! I doubt the Wi-Fi connector will reach the living room...all the way fucking downstairs!! URGH! Fucking Nintendo.

the wifi signal should cover most of your house

i had a router downstairs at one end of the house and used the wireless at the other end upstairs

if you have a usb extender cord you can move it around to get a maximum signal

Do you think the Nintendo Wi-Fi Adapter will cover most of my house? Or are you talking about a regular router?

God I'm gonna have to start sucking dick for money this Christmas. I'm a like two inches away from broke. It's ridiculous.

I'm kinda wondering how big it is and if it stands vertically (like PS2) or horizantally (like SNES).

wanna hear a funny story? I just bought PS2 and I can't tell the difference in the graphics between it and the PS3s I see... PS3 looks like a step backwards in all respects except size.

you can try it and if it dosent work just take it back..|

Originally I voted that I didn't plan on getting one, but after watching nearly all the videos on Wii.com, I've decided to treat myself to one for my birthday - which isn't until February (So, hopefully there won't be a problem getting one). Looks great and very innovative. So, that means my Xbox will be relegated to the spare room with the N64.
