I got a wii on launch day, and I love it. I picked up rayman and red steel. So far I haven't had anything negative to say about the system. I love how you can send email to your wii and get messages from other wii consoles. I haven't downloaded any of the virtual console games yet but I'm getting Mario 64 soon.
I downloaded Sonic and Bomberman93. It was extremely easy to go thru the Wii shop interface, enter your credit card info to buy wii points, choose your game, download the game, and done.. you got a new wii channel. (each vc game is a separate channel) The cool things is that you can choose how to play it, with the Wiimote, GC controller, or Classic Controller. I use the GC controller mostly though when Im feeling lazy I just use the Wiimote works just as well. Another cool thing is that when you leave the game properly (pressing home and going back to the wii menu) and come back later, it will start playing exactly were you left it last time.
Good old sonic is the same ol game, short and not too hard at all but still nice. Bomberman is lame in single player, but Bomberman has always been about multiplayer and the cool thing is that 5 can play at the same time. The emulation works wonderfully, looks just as you would expect it. The thing I noticed is that besides the definition or colors or whatever, there's no real improvement on the performance of the games. The same slowdown that happened on the original consoles will happen on the VC as well. But if they were playable back then, they still are now.
What Im looking forward to see on VC: Mario Kart 64, Mario PArty2 (best mario party ever), all the Mortal KOmbats, Castlevanias, Street Fighters, Final Fantasies, Super Marios, Sonics, Megamans... you know all those beloved series. Plus, if its not too much to ask, Rare games! not rare as in hard to find, but RARE games. Like Jet Force Gemini or Killer Instinct. I know... Microsoft bought them.. but I mean... businessmen can... talk.. or something... $$$....
