There is a racism issue within the gay community but it never really gets addressed because it has become something that has become an individual interest thing in regards to dating and sex.

The issue is deeper than that.

I just see how it seems gay guys act towards each other and we really are our own worst enemies. I think it's sad how we accept our peers to treat us like peers of meat made to sexually gratify them. How we simply can't even be ourselves. How we are always in competition with each other. The high ass standards we place on our pieces where they can't even be normal or have an issue without it being held against them. It's disturbing.

I can see why many are depressed and distressed. We don't treat ourselves right where we cosign the homophobes. Yet there is no accountability or responsibility on our end where we are willing to do something on our end to make it better.

I am more than my body and some sex. My peers are ready to look down on me if I'm not trying to be a perfectionist or into this or that and I'm looking at them like damn... insecurity really shouldn't be running your life.

Insecurity really be owning some gay guys lives when in reality, owning insecurity is realizing that you don't have to prove shit to anyone in order to have your humanity. Anytime you have to go out your way to impress people in order to be loved, you don't need them. How do you know they are getting play though? That's what they may want you to believe. Many times, that's not the case. Plenty of guys are struggling out here. Even the ones that are sleeping around really cant settle for anything else besides that. Many of those guys are uncomfortable with themselves so they want someone else to feel the same way. I got really anxious after an hour and a half and put my clothes back on and went home.

I can see your point on one hand that yes you should definitely try out the bathhouse go to the steam room or sauna to clear your head. I refuse to go into a pool in a bathhouse the things people do in there no thanks. I suggest anyone who goes to a bathhouse especially a popular one is to always GET YOUR OWN ROOM. Getting a room especially on a busy night is a good idea. One, you can stay in your room leave the door open and if a guy is interested he will come to you. Second, if you have anxiety like I do sometimes or you get stressed out that the night isn't going as planned you can chill out in your room. Sometimes in a bathhouse, you never KNOW when something good is going to happen. For instance, last week Wednesday I was silly going to Steamworks at 2pm LOL! I should of known it wasn't busy. No one is equally attracted to all types, races, ages, builds, hair colors, etc. Everone has preferences. In choosing sex partners, there is no reason to go beyond your preferences. You are not doing anyone a favor by having luke warm (or Less) sex out of some misguided sense of obligation.

Everyone has preferences BUT I argue for men of colour especially DEPENDING on your geographic location often have to expand our horizons in order to get laid. In Toronto, for example, whenever I go to a bathhouse I am sometimes the ONLY black man in the joint. OR there might be two or three other black men there. The point is blacks are a minority in Toronto bathhouses. So what is a black guy to do to get laid? Of course, got to expand your horizons tons of Asian men and white men at Toronto bathhouses. I think for gay men of colour it is almost a form of survival. In order to get laid we have to expand beyond our race. If I said I am ONLY having sex with black men in Toronto the truth is I wouldn't be having much sex. Black men less likely to go to a bathhouse or sex club and the black gay men who are out tend not to be interested in other black guys. I can ONLY speak for myself but that is what I have observed. I don't know how it is for Asian gay men but I am just giving my perspective. See, a white gay man like the guys on Grindr can say they ONLY are into other white men because WHITES are the majority in most major North American cities. A white gay man KNOWS other white gay men are going to be interested in him if he is decent looking. BUT, when a gay man of colour enters a bathhouse or sex club i definitely wonder is anyone into black men here? I always ask myself that question because i KNOW I am a minority in these spaces. Demographics is a big part of this.
