I agree with you completely.
Why doesn't someone set up a website on a more crucial issue such as 'Douchebags of the Minneapolis Police Force"?
Or "Douchebags of the Islamist Fanatic Killers"?
Or "Douchebags of the Neo-Liberal Capitalism"?
This 'Douchebags of Grindr" website is like that uncool kid in the school playground shouting out—
Why don't you Like Me?
Please Like Me!
I'm going to tell the teacher on to you for not liking me!
And of course all that crying made the kid even more unlikeable.
I bet Deng Xiaoping wouldn't approve of all this rather pathetic name-calling.
For real.
There is a racism issue within the gay community but it never really gets addressed because it has become something that has become an individual interest thing in regards to dating and sex.
The issue is deeper than that.
I just see how it seems gay guys act towards each other and we really are our own worst enemies. I think it's sad how we accept our peers to treat us like peers of meat made to sexually gratify them. How we simply can't even be ourselves. How we are always in competition with each other. The high ass standards we place on our pieces where they can't even be normal or have an issue without it being held against them. It's disturbing.
I can see why many are depressed and distressed. We don't treat ourselves right where we cosign the homophobes. Yet there is no accountability or responsibility on our end where we are willing to do something on our end to make it better.
I am more than my body and some sex. My peers are ready to look down on me if I'm not trying to be a perfectionist or into this or that and I'm looking at them like damn... insecurity really shouldn't be running your life.
Insecurity really be owning some gay guys lives when in reality, owning insecurity is realizing that you don't have to prove shit to anyone in order to have your humanity. Anytime you have to go out your way to impress people in order to be loved, you don't need them. This idea of being flawed because you are gay where you need to fix something or prove you are a perfectionist is wack.
I see this shit time and time again. It ain't anybody job to love you except you.
