Here's what was just added to the NC GOP platform.

Government should treat all citizens impartially, without regard to wealth, race, ethnicity, disability, religion, sex, political affiliation or national origin. We oppose all forms of invidious discrimination. Sexual orientation is not an appropriate category.

Keep in mind several the GOP in other states have the same kind of wording listed in their platforms. To them, gays and lesbians aren't citizens worthy of protection.
I'd really like to see GOProud or the Log Cabin Republicians try to spin this. There is no way,no matter how hard they try.

Also, nice to see how wealth was the first thing listed.

It shows how fucked up the Republicans are in some states.

It makes me thankful that I live in a nation that eschews this kind of institutionalized bigotry.

Wow. "Sexual orientation is not an appropriate category." Classy, NC.

Not surprising given some recent events there. No wonder the Charles Worleys of the world feel it's O.K. to advocate putting Gays and lesbians in electrified cages and throw them some food until they all die. By the way, Charles Worley is a Baptist minister. If you haven't viewed his "sermons" go have a look. A more hateful and vile person could not possibly exist on this earth.

Where the GOP jubbers to address this? It's been made clear as day in N.C. and with other state GOP's exactly what they think of us.
How can you still support them?

Well of course. That would require actual explanation, and we can't have THAT! Much easier to troll the rest of the topic bemoaning how persecuted they are and how evil I am...

Who has said you are evil? I count at least three times you have suggested something like this. Do you really think you are bring attacked.

One problem with Baptists is that the preacher is free to preach on whatever he feels like. Inevitably that means a lean or lurch toward preaching his own points of view and not the Bible.

I'll take a church that mandates what scripture will be read on a Sunday, with a schedule that makes sure the whole Bible is preached on every couple of years, any day.

Former RNC Michael Steele called the GOP the party of the Big Tent the party of Inclusion not Exclusion.

how odd is it that the Democratic National Convention is in this god forsaken state
