Not Bad Rhianna...

Re: Rihanna's New Single/New Album/Track List [merged]

She sings through her throat and nose, to make the fuzzy nasal effect. Which is 1) annoying 2) not hard and 3) bad for your throat.

:)

Her singing is a result of the construction of her body. I highly doubt that it is a deliberate action on her part. Have you heard her speak? It's the exact same. She really has an extremely thin voice. Now, if you were to say Britney Spears on the other hand, someone told her to sing through her nose, especially in her early career. However, this thread is not about Britney.

And the fact that its apparent she doesn't know that you have to rely on your diaphragm, not throat, to sing.

Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

Love her or hate her, you know you watch the interview Friday to hear her tell what happened that night. I thought it was good that she let some insight on what happened but she's not telling the whole truth. I also don't like how they made Chris Brown out to be a monster. Any Thoughts?

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

She handled herself well, and she had some powerful things to say not only about her situation, but about others who suffer from such abuses. As far as her not telling the whole truth, none of us were in their relationship, so we weren't privy to what happened. She did not want to go into too many details, and for good reason. As she said, it's a memory that you want to forget as soon as it happens.
I thought it was quite powerful when she talked about the humiliation one feels when she realizes she's "let" someone do this to her. Obviously the victim is not to blame for the violence, but that feeling of humiliation is so common among victims, and it makes it even harder for them to seek help or escape.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

It was powerful when she talked about how her father used to beat her mother and she said she wouldn't let a man do that to her and then this happened.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

I liked the interview simple and heartfelt. Just one thing... I liked the outfit, but not for this interview. It was so distracting. I just kept thinking very a la Basic Instinct. She just needed a cig.

The fact that they've both talked openly about the violence they grew up seeing, and how neither thought they would ever enter into such an arrangement, is exactly why we should do more in our society to educate people on the power of conditioning.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

Reading some blogs about this I couldn't believe some of the comments mostly from women, defending Chris Brown's actions and actually attacking Rihanna saying it was her fault, she is fake, and is hiding something. They actually said they feel sorry for Chris Brown. I was saddened by the attitudes of these women, I had an aunt who went through years of physical and emotional abuse from her husband. It doesn't matter if Rihanna started the argument, a man should never put his hands on a woman.

If he had killed her, those same women would be writing him letters in prison.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

I thought it was interesting how ABC edited one of Chris Brown's "fans" comments about how he felt about the situation. I saw the whole video and it seems like he was neutral to both sides. But I bet everyone knows who he is now.

And those same women probably will stay in an abusive relationship, and accept the situation for what it is. I think Rhianna conducted herself like a lady and a professional during the interview. I found her interview to be more heartfelt than Chris Brown's. I really hope Chris Brown matures and learns from this situation, He's only twenty years old he can change.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

I thought she did a good job. I'm just very disappointed that she is leaving the option open to go back with him in the future. WTF? She should write his ass off FOREVER!

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

No woman or man should be abused by another wether physically or emotionally, no matter what. But just like Whitney Houston, I have lost respect for Rihanna as a human being. The timing of their interviews smacks of nothing but pure marketing to sell their music. Just like Whitney, the numbers will be tainted with plenty of sympathy sales. Unlike Whitney who didn't have any competition when she released her cd, Rihanna will have to fight off other majors releases that day.

Let the sympathy pre-orders begin.

^that video is cool. When I first heard the song and the concept it sounds like the intro of a James Bond movie a little bit.

Re: Rihanna's 20/20 Interview

Well he doesn't do a very fine job in changing people's perception of him as one. The more he talks, and the more he shies away from owning up to what he did, the more he does indeed appear to be a monster.

And I loooooovvvvveeeedddd the part of the interview where Rihanna watched his half-hearted, inarticulate apology and said what everyone with half a brain said all around the world. "It seems like he was reading from some sort of a prompter." :rotflmao:

I think Rih-Rih conducted herself wonderfully throughout the interview. She was honest, concise, and mindful of the equally destructive role she played in all of that. I'm still not a fan of her as a musician but she definitely won some major cool points from me in the human department. Even if this was interview was staged for publicity and sympathy for her new album, I applaud her for executing it like a real star is supposed to. And not like some insincere, mush-mouthed, girl-beating, ghetto snipe like some other people we know.

So much for his career.

I was thrilled that she adressed that in the interview and called it what it was. Plain ignorance.

Anyone (male or female) who thinks it's okay for a guy nearly 6 feet, 200 pounds to violently attack a woman non-stop is ignorant. Simple as that, you're an ignorant ass fool and too many words shouldn't be wasted in your direction explaining to you why a man beating a girl half-to-death is wrong no matter what.

Moe You get the "Post Of The Week Award", I could not have said it any better!!!
