Obama Charming The Press

That's a false conclusion of what he is doing. Entirely false. Going by your own words---constant negativity is not examination.

Nice try but that's a misrepresentation of his "own words." His own words were "apparent constant negativity."

Examining and judging the policies and actions of public officials is not "negativity," it's responsible. And doing so without being slave to political party or popular personality is even more responsible.

And Kuli is right -- the scarcity today of true examination of the actions and words of our public officials is a shortcoming in today's media, and citizenry, that should be addressed in school civics classes. ..|

"Apparent" doesn't change anything. You deserve no kudos for your fallacious reasoning and baiting behavior. There is no 'true examination'. You created a fiction, Obama is a villain, and attempt to spin things to that.

I have to go with ICO7 here -- I didn't claim a "true" examination, Nick -- just examination. More Americans should do it.

OTOH, the impression of constant negativity does your cause no good: you're generating a "boy who cried wolf" situation.

No. I'm crazy as a loon. Helen is just on a mission. The one all reporters are supposed to have but 98% of them suddenly forgot about the minute 9/11 happened and asking a fucking question became a terrorist act.

When was the last time a reporter at a presidential press conference actually asked a question? Most of them seem intent upon making long rambling speeches to make a point, which point may or may not lead to an actual bona-fide question. Sort of reminds me of a typical senate hearing.

That has been the pattern for years, no matter who is in office.

Your posts, Kulindahr, are the types of analysis that Nick and others should be emulating. Even if you come to some odd or offball conclusions after the fact, you still attempt to operate within the framework of logic and reason and work toward conclusions instead of from them (ie, the 'Obama is a villain, and this is how I'm spinning toward that' approach Nick has done for years now).

chance, I'm not sure if Nick cares more for your opinion than I do, but I'm not overly concerned or shakened by the fact we disagree on this. Not in the least.

Being called charming by a man who emulates Bill O'Reilly.....

Nick, I think chance just insulted your character :p

And chance, when ARE you gonna enlist and stop giving me these fucking head.... errrr, I mean... open new career opportunites?

I assumed he meant it metaphorically. No way in hell can I imagine those three mentioned in my post ever getting dirt under their nails in a foxhole in an actual war.

Maybe someone will invent a Port-a-Hole, a self-installing foxhole with seats and sanitary facilities and a nice scent.

Cognitive Dissonance: Obama doesn't have a basketball in his hand and some white guys can't get their minds around the fact that he really is just a normal, well-intentioned, but very bright individual.
I can't understand it any other way.

If you can't understand it any other way then you're able to understand opposition to President Obama's words or actions only in racist terms. And that says more about you than others.

I can't understand it any other way.

And the highway to hell is paved with good intentions.
