That's a false conclusion of what he is doing. Entirely false. Going by your own words---constant negativity is not examination.
Nice try but that's a misrepresentation of his "own words." His own words were "apparent constant negativity."
Examining and judging the policies and actions of public officials is not "negativity," it's responsible. And doing so without being slave to political party or popular personality is even more responsible.
And Kuli is right -- the scarcity today of true examination of the actions and words of our public officials is a shortcoming in today's media, and citizenry, that should be addressed in school civics classes.
