Obama's 'Blame Bush' strategy

Guys, 59% of your fellow liberals agree that the GOP will bring forth new ideas.

That's not what the poll says. Once again, you are making things up. The questions was would electing Republicans would not be a return to Bush policies. Of course, even if the Republicans were to win majorities in both houses, Obama would still be president and would veto crazy anything the Republicans could pass. People may just believe that a Democratic president and Republican Congress would have to work together to pass legislation.

Of course, why are you so focused on polls. Time and again we have asked you your thoughts on Republican policies you found so attractive or that you thought would benefit the country. Why are you so resistant to answering those questions. Isn't what is important is the policies that elected officials would follow? What polls say on any given day don't mean much.

After all, a Gallup poll last year found that only 39% believe in evolution. http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/darwin-birthday-believe-evolution.aspx Do you think that means that the teaching of evolution is a bad thing?

Obama has turned out to be the greatest asset the republicans have. His total abject failure on the economy, the debacle on the health care bill, the 2 trillion dollar increase in the debt, the increase in unemployment again despite spending more money in one year than all the money spent by the federal government in the 1960's combined. His continued whining about those who oppose his policies and his attempts to portray them all as racist have caused a huge shift in public opinion. Hope and Change has turned into "we hope the change will stop hurting", he has turned race relations back 50 years with his inflamatory rhetoric. He has inflamed class warfare by blaming anyone who is sucessful for the failure of his policies. He has turned foreign policy into an apology road show and encouraged our enemies to be even more defiant in the knowlege he will cut and run given the opportunity and even seems at times to embrace some of their rhetoric. He bows to the inbred kings of Islam while treating our best allies Israel and Great Britain like red headed step children. He thinks Chicago street gang tactics are a good primer for military policy while he embraces the leader of Mexico after he insults America from the Halls of Congress. He is an intellectual lightweight who is barely coherent without a telepromter.
At this point in time he is the one person who will be able to make Jimmy Carter look like a success! Keep up the good work!

just my opinion.....

I think the Democrats will keep control of both houses in November, despite all the rhetoric. I know they'll lose some seats here and there but I do think they will keep control.

I also think that with two more years Obama's approval rating will begin to increase as his programs progress and mature... and people begin to see what 4 years of his policies will bring... We are quick to judge how this is playing out within just 2 years. I'd almost bet that in two more years our economy will take a HUGE turn for the better. Time is Obama's biggest asset.

With that said...

If the Republicans do not win some sort of control in Congress this November they are literally fucked come 2012...

I can understand your point Loki... But..... IMHO I think once his policies continue to progress and he does more over the next 2.5 years he'll gain his popularity back. He will/should run on his record at that point.... I just happen to think that in 4 years, ppl will see his policies are making a difference for the better... That is why I say Obama's greatest asset is time... People are on edge because no one knows how everything will shape up because his policies are not even 2 years old yet....

People automatically think that since his policies haven't helped already, they are just bad policies.... it never works like that.... shit like this takes time to show a difference

In the next two years, things will turn around...

If Republicans do not win control of one of the houses in Congress, will they continue to say "no" for the next 2 years as well?

So the question will be..... is Obama better off running on a 4 year record of trying to fix problems? or will the Republicans be better off running on just saying "no" for 4 years? I think, in any case, Obama will have the upper hand.

Most Americans (not the people on this board) but most Americans are now starting to blame Obama for the countries problems.

His falling poll numbers are proof of that.

USAToday Gallup has him at 41% approval. 38% among whites.

Gee that's pretty close to Bush numbers. I think by the time the election gets here Bush will be more popular than Obama. lol.

Leno made a real funny jab at Obama last night :rotflmao:

JAY LENO: Welcome to the "Tonight Show," and we want to start off by saying Happy Birthday to President Barack Obama. He is...

[Cheers and applause]

LENO: He is 49, which is eight points higher than his approval rating. Wow.

[Laughter]

LENO: If you would like to get him a a gift, he's registered at Bed, Bath and Blame it on Bush. That's the store.

It depends. If his solutions to the problems remain unpopular, he'll be in as much trouble as the republicans. Then it'll come down to who voters dislike the least.

fast eddy... do you think coolkid is right and that Bush would like to be fisted by Shia le Boeuf?

AAAAAh, no!

Gonna be away for a week finishing repairs and sprucing up my avatar, not that anyone really cares. I just didn't want anyone to think that I was leaving the forum because they threw meaningless insults or rhetoric my way. The avatar is 1971 23ft Winner Sport Fisher in case there are any other boat owners out there.

Ego fragile much?

Come.

Go.

Whether anyone thinks you're a pussy, or cares or doesn't care if you leave droppings on a porn forum politics and current events board usually doesn't require a statement from someone who has less than 90 posts.

We'll all await your return.

Say Hi to shia and make sure to clean under your fingernails afterwards!!!

Guys, 59% of your fellow liberals agree that the GOP will bring forth new ideas.

Wow, do you need an education.

I could as easily interpret that as 59% of liberals consider Obama tough enough to balk Republican attempts to return to Bush policies. Or that they think Republicans have gotten smarter and won't try to return to such idiocy. Or they think that Republicans don't have the balls to try to return to the Bush policies. Or....

If they don't believe they're going to return to Bushanomics, then what will the do? Something NEW, duh.

With the midterm elections right around the corner it has become obvious that President Obama is not at all confident in his policies. A true strong and credible leader he is not, instead he makes portrays himself as looking very weak, specifically by shifting the blame on Bush at every chance he gets. He has nothing to run on except for his unpopular Health Care bill. So what does he continue to do instead to rile up his base for the midterm elections? Blame Bush. Instead of confidently running on his own party's "accomplishments", Obama attempts to scare Americans that the GOP will only make things worse, in turn setting up a straw man. In a memo released by the President's own pollster it reveals shocking news for the White House.

Would a Republican Congress mean a return to Bush policies? (yes/no)
• Democrats (32-60%)
• Liberals (34-59%)
• Independents (22-67%)
• Moderates (25-65%)

Obama can continue playing the blame game all he wants, but American's aren't buying into it, especially the Independent voting bloc that put him into office. Even Democrats and liberals are unconvinced that a Republican Congress means a return to Bushanomics. It's obvious Obama is terrified that the GOP, once they take back Congress, will bring forth far better popular ideas.

Whether the votes "buy" into it or not, the mess that we're in today was created by GWBUSH, not Obama. Yes, it's disappointing that recovery has been so damn slow but stop and think of how far along we would be if the DO-NOTHING-JUST-SAY-NO REPUBLICANS would actually help Obama and the Dems govern. Their only goal is to make him fail at the expense of the middle/lower class americans. T

you cherry picked data, ignored the conclusions, and then hid the original in an unfriendly formatted file.

anyway

the group disagrees with your assesment.

thats all I needed to know. You tried to spin something and it isn't working.

Nice try though.... you are getting good at this...|

LMAO! I hope this doesn't surprise you.

Wingnuts have a long and rich history of said behavior.

This is all part of the displacement of guilt strategy used by most presidents, here is 2 other examples in the past.

Nixon and Vietnam: Johnson's War

Clinton and Deficit: Reagan's Military spending/Reaganomics

Oh I can't wait to register to vote abroad. Come Tuesday, November 6, 2012 if Obama is on the ballot for ANY thing, the box next to his name will be empty.

ha!! and how, based on your ideology COULD you vote for a democrat of any sort. Did you vote for him the first time?

Did he win?

Hmmmm...... wonder why this matters

LOL I was 16 when he was elected. I was the only one in my civics class that wanted McCain. I don't care for party affiliation, If they are a democrat and I like them I will vote for them, same with republican. All the students had been indoctrinated by the Obama=Change bs.

I will be voting for Mass. representatives and I will choose someone who I believe will best serve the Commonwealth. If Scott Brown does not serve us well, than he will not get my vote. As for Kerry, he will not be getting my vote. Just saying...

And like I said if Obama is on the ballot and if say, someone like Sarah Palin (God forbid) is the republican running against him, than Nixon's skeleton will be my write in vote :p
