Obama's 'Blame Bush' strategy

Wow, just wow.

Talk about living in a dream world. It was Bush's ideas that got us in this mess and President Obama is trying to get us out of this mess.

FYI, there is no Santa Claus. No Tooth Fairy.

Actually the responsibility lies with many people, including some of your beloved far-left politicians.

Ego fragile much?

Come.

Go.

Whether anyone thinks you're a pussy, or cares or doesn't care if you leave droppings on a porn forum politics and current events board usually doesn't require a statement from someone who has less than 90 posts.

We'll all await your return.
Oops, didn't leave yet. Thanks for the kind thoughts. I only recently joined JUB, thats why the low number of posts. But considering the tripe content of the posts from some of the longer terms members I certainly won't have any problem confusing quantity with quality. It's not about someone thinking I'm a pussy you dolt, it's about a delusional ego trip by you leftist elitists that you have a monopoly on political discourse. Have a great day!

That's rich.

One notes that in your first 85 posts, there would be no confusion about quality.

Enjoy your vacation.

lol even Obama has said that part of the problem was created during the Clinton administration with the passing of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999. This happened under the watchful eyes of a (dare I say it?) de-de-de-de-democrat!!! (1) This just goes to show how BOTH parties and its members were responsible in some regard to the cause of the financial meltdown. Do I think Republicans deserve a bit more of the blame? Yeah, but blaming Bush won't do anything now. Getting Congress and Obama to work harder towards a fix will.

end of clinton admin--- budget surplus

end of bush admin--- largest deficit in history upon leaving office and a reccesion in full swing.

this is Bush's recession and history will record it as such. the ridiculous rebates and tax cuts as simultaneously blowing up the budget through HUGE unpaid for war spending, done off the books in separate bills to evade anti deficit laws.

His actions were willful and he knew what his choices would bring. He was more interested in imediate power than history or our children's future.

SO yeah.. put the blame where it belongs.

On dumb fuck Bush's retarded drug adicted shoulders.

oh and just in case I wasn't clear about my feelings....

FUCK BUSH AND THE HORSE HE RODE IN ON

How could Obama think that? The Republicans haven't put forward any better, more popular ideas. They haven't put forward any ideas, except a few Bush retreads. Would you care to enlighten us about these Republican ideas that are better and more popular than Democratic ones?

Two years ago, I thought I was a Democrat. Today, I will NEVER vote for another Democrat as long as I live.

It's not about whether or not the Republicans can do better. It's because Obama and the Democrats completely turned me off with their heavy handed ways. If I want that, I can get it all day long from Republicans. At this point, I'll vote Republican just to get even with Democrats for being such a fucking fraud.

that's a joke right?

Well, your opinion on Bush (and republicans in general) has been quite clear.
As For the "Fuck Bush" statement, I hated Bush, and I don't like Obama.

"Change-Change-Change" How about some REAL change, no more politics as usual bullshit.

BP, we got a Gubernatorial election in Mass in the fall, I know that our state (with exception of Scott Brown) elects Dems. Why don't we contribute to real change and vote in a a new person, preferably NOT vote Republican or Democrat. (i.e. the Political Parties and it's members responsible for a lot of the problems we have now.) Sadly, this won't happen in the Commonwealth, or any state for that matter...

I voted green party in the last one.

Romney trotted out in front of the cameras at least twice a week telling people what he was doing, and while his actions by and large were stupid, at least we knew what was going on.

the new governor can't be seen unless theres a firedrill at the capital house..lol

I want a third party option and I hope we have a viable third party option. Remember, I am a non affiliated voter with extreme hostility towards the republicans for their antigay agenda. Until the republcian party changes its position on gay rights, I will continue to work to put people in office in massachusetts that will continue and uphold the gay rights advances we have made.

its that simple.

as for the national election? I feel the same way. Until the republicans disavow the racist and homophobic ellements of their conservative coalition, and promise to help, not hinder gay rights, I will fight anything that gives them more power.

and telling people that this recession is the BUSH recession is important to that end.

Voting democratic candidates into office if they are the only other real option is important to that end.

I am a dedicated radical gay rights activist. I am proud of that.

Obama does need to be careful with adopting a "Blame Bush" strategy. I think it is okay to used sparingly, however if this would be the main strategy used for re-election and attempts to use it as a talking point in every speech, it may backfire.

At some point, he needs to take ownership, although to be fair, I think we should provide at least 3 years minimum to measure economic recovery. Some people clearly aren't being patient enough simply because of their personal dislike for the president, which is why I pay no attention to them.

Ownership for the sollution is not and never should be ownership of the problem.

Every major economist agrees that the stimulus package worked and without it, we would be in a much worse state today. In fact, many argue it wasn't big enough. The economy has almost completely rebounded, with the exception of job growth, but that takes time. At least there are nowhere near the amount of layoffs that were happening when Bush was in office.

Didn't Obama say that unemployment wouldn't go over 8%

It's nearly at 10%

The economy has almost completely rebounded

No, no it hasn't. The fact that jobs are continuing to be lost, and more people than ever are giving up on even looking, should tell you that. Jobs are not separate from the recovery.

Yes, but then he argued for a bigger stimulus package that would focus more on job creation, but it was scaled back. Nevertheless, that is one statistic of hundreds that prove the stimulus saved us from the brink of disaster. Just look at the job loss rate, I'm sure you'd be happy if you job was saved by it.

There is no way of proving that your job was saved by the stimulus. Not even the president's economists will go that far.

None of it really matters.

Bush43, and his supporters at FOX News blamed Clinton for everything.

Even Guilliani blamed Clinton for shit that happened while he was Mayor of NYC, and it was clearly under Bush43's watch.

Politicians, and people that I know in the "Corporate" world always blame their predeccessors.

I seem to recall Obama running against "the blame game."

Do you want to know who I blame?

The Democrats, The Republicans, Washington Insiders, Corporate/Wall Street Interests, and our News Media.

I've yet to see a single one of those groups take a stand for the American People.

Instead there too busy trying to keep us divided (the one success that they've all be good at), while not one of them have shown any leadership, or truly stood up for "American Ideals."

Unless of course the American Ideal is shitty political representation, and being able to blame each other and anyone who doesn't support their position on something.

If that's the case then we should rejoice in having the best democracy that money can buy, and the best bleating sheep to get across their message! ..|

I agree with Boston Pirate. You've got to be kidding me. What "heavy handed ways" are you talking about? My problem is that the Dems weren't heavy handed enough. The Republicans had nothing but obstruction on their mind, and they followed through. Voting for Republicans to get even with Democrats? What nonsense. So, put them in office and let them finish destroying the country. But hey, at least you get even with the Democrats.

On second thought, don't bother answering. Your reply makes clear you have nothing intelligent to add to any debate. You're just another mindless complainer howling at the wind because Obama didn't make your life perfect.
