Occupy Wall Street

BP - I watched the entire video.

My question would be -- why aren't they demonstrating in front the White House?

They are...

“Where are the jobs?” protesters yelled outside the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“We need jobs” they shouted in front of the White House.
“Banks got bailed out, we got sold out,” they chanted while marching down K Street.
The group plans to “occupy,” or camp out in, Washington’s Freedom plaza until the government creates a serious jobs program, adds an amendment to the Constitution to take “big money” out of elections by repealing the Citizens United Supreme Court decision and investigates Wall Street bankers that were involved in the financial crisis, said protestor Peter Burr, 64.

Washington is Next. RIght now we just want support from the 99%. It's only the beginning. We are watching history being made.

Nobody is attending Occupy Washington. There are paying protesters.

TheDC asked that organizer whether he was paying the group to attend the protest, and he conceded that some protesters “aren’t” volunteers.

“Some of them are volunteers. Some of them aren’t,” he explained. “I can’t identify them. I’m not going to get into an identification game.”

Washington Post article: What do the One Percent think"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...percent-think/2011/10/07/gIQAMpPsSL_blog.html

I am a multi-millionaire and member of the 1 percent ... Do I think Wall Street is to blame? Yes and no ... they cater to what people want. Unfortunately, that’s usually low quality, fast results ... The real problem is politicians, who should regulate banking.”

C'mon, the republicans claim regulation is bad. And isn't that blaming someone else?

The Reddit user also defended the rich who had worked hard for their money instead of inherited

I believe this too.

There is another class of millionaires in America. Those who inherited wealth from their parents and did not work to earn it. Those people have a false sense of entitlement when they're brought up in advantage, ease and luxury. These people who were handed mega millions are the ones who are fighting regulation and equality. Too many of them have purchased politicians or become politicians to keep and increase the inheritance from their fathers. They don't know how to make money like their ancestors did, by working for it.

Mitt Romney
The Koch Brothers
The Walton heirs
George W Bush
Jeb Bush
Donald Trump

....are all offspring of millionaires and wouldn't have been as successful as they are without their father's money. The silver spoons in their mouths are tarnishing.

The solution is easy:

Limit the amount that can be bequeathed to any individual entity, person or group, to a million times half the minimum wage.

As (IIRC) J. P. Morgan said to his relatives, when leaving them nothing, "I earned mine -- you do the same."

You must bring a tussie mussie with you. Then, if you start to feel faint you will have a refuge.

I have no idea what a tussie mussie is.

Google is saying it is a flower.

That would not help with the overwhelming stench.

I dont see how those people can live in such filth. I had to go home and take a hour long shower.. I still feel dirty.

No wonder the organizers are hiring illegal immigrants to 'play' protesters. No American will take the job.

Have you not reiterated your "point" enough? Or do you need to post the same thing another seventeen times?

The 'occupy wall street' 'people' are filthy dirty disgusting 'people'.

They have spray painted the sidewalk, the benches and even the trees.

They have urinated on everything. The smell is wrenched. They have not washed nor bathed.

I believe from the smell that they have also crapped everywhere.

Yet some people on this thread hold them up as heroes.

Ok, only sixteen more to go. ..|

Get a grip and grow up. You really ought to go to Wisconsin for a summer and take a job mucking out dairy barns -- it might give you... well, something you lack.

BTW, your final statement? Either you didn't read the item you cited earlier, which makes you a purposely deliberate hypocrite, or you read it and said what you just did, which makes you a liar, or you don't even care, which makes you a troll, or you can't see the contradiction, which could mean you're an poorly-written computer program...

or you're just a troll.

I suspect people feel dirty just reading your posts, with all the falsehoods, contradictions, and non-sequiturs.

oh, you BELIEVE! Earlier you were claiming this as fact.

BTW, have you ever been camping? [note: if you had anything solid over your head, it wasn't camping]

Not that it matters, but these claims of poor sanitation appear to be a lie:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...ocracy-really-looks-like/2011/10/07/gIQA2O9dT

Even pixie's link claims the protesters are cleaning up after themselves:

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/10...ts-trying-to-get-rid-of-jobs-hurting-tourism/

“The people that have been here, have been making sure to clean up. You can walk through and see, but I’ve seen multiple people sweeping,” demonstrator Michelle Rafic said.

You never actually went down there, did you, pixie?

You just made that stuff up, because the truth threatens your world view.

Hey, Justapixel. If I were to attend one of these protests, would I also be considered a "filthy, disgusting 'person?" Are you really going so far to generalize everyone as somehow subhuman? You felt compelled to put person in quotation marks.

Mayor Bloomberg says that the protestors are actually hurting their brethren

Workers that is

This "occupation" is hurting tourism and businesses in a big way

Some friends went a couple days ago and said that it was a mixed bag of committed idealists - smart - up on the real issues

And some fucked up miscreants

Blocking the Brooklyn bridge was not right

I appreciate the concept of the uprising if not the execution

Republican candidates who demonize these types of demonstrations curry no additional favor with their supporters and risk further distancing themselves from real people

Herman Cain's comments are akin to a "Howard dean moment"

Saying that out of work people deserve it
