Occupy Wall Street

I think I need a vacation. I just found an article about former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani where he compares OWS with Woodstock. I paraphrase, "they should go and get jobs!" I was going to post the article, but I didn't want to throw up on my keyboard.

I also heard The Boner accusing Pres. Obama of being uncooperative. Accuse the accuser. Blame the victim. Typical Neo-Nazi tactics. Go have another drink, John.

I am so tired of all this fucking shit. These people say whatever they want with impunity. Nobody cares. In a perverse way, I hope the Republican candidate wins the Presidential election of 2012. I hope the Supreme Court becomes all Neocon. I hope Citizens United lasts a thousand years (at least). We get the government we deserve and right now, we don't deserve much. H.L. Mencken said that America is "the first comic republic." He really said a mouthful!

If fifteen percent of the U.S. got active with the Occupy movement, the fence-sitters won't matter

With the Occupy movement, as with the Revolution, those on the front lines are fighting for the rest whether they realize it or not.

As for all those opposing... the plutocrats are laughing, because you're footsoldiers for your own enslavement.

You right if the 15 percent find a way to have traction. That still has yet to be seen. That and the ideas of removing corporate funding from Washington is very noble. That traction part is tricky.

Although I did read today OWS delegates from my hometown of Cincinnati are going to support their own candidates for election this year. They also went to NYC to suggest to the main GA that they do the same.

I need to find a way to get through to all the Occupy people that just removing corporate funding is insufficient -- we have to strip every entity except the individual citizen or legal resident of all right to any political activity whatsoever.
 
Maybe not now, but we'll see where this goes as it coalesces.

The first months of OWS were able to work without any set of leaders or agreed-upon demands because the main objective was one of riotous visibility, a sort of “we’re mad as hell, and we’re not gonna take it anymore,” kind of thing. But that was months ago, and while a sizable chunk of Americans support OWS, with winter coming on strong, protest fatigue and just plain fatigue are threatening to thin the ranks considerably.
So perhaps it’s unsurprising that the very decentralization that has kept OWS from coming forth with either demands or a latter-day Debs, has encouraged at least one Occupy group to go it alone and form a political party, complete with candidates and Congressional aspirations.
Enter Occupy Cincinnati and the not-so-subtly-named Occupation Party, which party spokesman Tyrone Givens says is planning to run six candidates for local seats in three states. The party has a ten-point platform on their site, which includes everything from jailing those responsible for the recession to repealing the Citizens United Supreme Court case.

Count on it.

You can do the fancy two step and jerk off the guy next to you with cutsie BS but its not ever going to happen.

They can't even decide on a specific demand. The idea that they would run a candidate is foolish.

So you don't agree with the platform? It encompasses most of the the items that have been proffered up by OWS 99%-ers here on JUB as the demands when it was claimed they didn't have any.

Meh it is their best chance but your right they are not linked solidly enough to stand behind such a party.

No third party is going to make a dent until the monopoly of the Two-Faced Whore over things gets broken, and that's not going to happen until corporations are booted from politics -- not just spending, but from all political activity whatsoever, at any level, in any fashion.

Like this:


An amendment to the Constitution defining "person", for political purposes, as an individual human being;

and that only persons as so defined who are either citizens or legal residents have any political rights at all;

and therefore no entity which is not a citizen may exercise any political rights, including engaging in the political process in any way;

excepting coalitions of citizens banded together for the purpose of, and no other purpose than, engaging in political activity.

Then we need to get the House of Representatives freed to be proportional representation by State delegation.
