Maybe its just me but I have a hard time feeling sorry for a plumber who makes $250,000 a year.

It's not that your supposed to feel sorry for him,it's the changes that Obama's tax plan will have on his business and others that have the potential to turn this recession into a depression. The more small and larger businesses are taxed the less expanding and hiring they do, and the more cutting costs and laying off they do.So thank Obama!..|

Economists are divided over the impact of increasing or lowering taxes. Look where the last eight years have got us.

No business owners, in their right mind, base their expansion and hiring plans on taxation alone. The tail doesn't wag the dog an' all that.

If the projected profits, finance and opportunities are there, that's when they expand and hire.

The thing is.. I'm against corporate take over. I HATE WAL-MART! When Big companies take over small businesses... jobs actually become LOST! With more smaller businesses, more jobs actually come into play. We do need some major companies... that I have to admit.

I didn't see any comment on this from anyone, so --
When Obama was responding to the "who I associate with" bit he gave examples of who he associates with for various things, including some Republicans. He said they're the people he would have around him in the White House.

Was that a hint that he may have Republicans on his Cabinet?

I don't think I've ever seen a politician in a debate sit and misrepresent, twist, and spin like McCain is doing!

He's so transparent -- he says "my campaign is about" blah blah blah, and then spends most of his time attacking Obama.

As much as I have personally denied it, and as much as others who are voting for McCain because Obama is the candidate, I admit that was the major part of it, and any other Hillary-turned-McCain supporter who denies it, is in denial in fear the Obama Klan will come after them and pelt them with Sarah Palin Is A Cunt t-shirts.

I admire your honesty. And I mean that, sincerely.

There are a couple older people on here (who will remain nameless), who I feel do have certain racial prejudices from looking at their posts critically. However you were one that never struck me as having racial concerns with Obama, which was why I wanted to make that clear with Cher, who is one of the more sensitive posters on here when discussing racial issues with. Like I said, I think for a lot of people, it is simply bitterness more than anything else.

I remember reading some time ago that that was the plan, e.g.

Obama is hoping to appoint cross-party figures to his cabinet such as Chuck Hagel, the Republican senator for Nebraska and an opponent of the Iraq war, and Richard Lugar, leader of the Republicans on the Senate foreign relations committee.

Senior advisers confirmed that Hagel, a highly decorated Vietnam war veteran and one of McCain’s closest friends in the Senate, was considered an ideal candidate for defence secretary.

You honestly dont think that many people how have racial issues will make up other excuses and say its not racism?

Wow. What the f- is your problem? Get off it. You don't know me, I've given no reasons for anyone to even make an assanine assumption that I'm the least bit racist. So back off. It must be soothing to you to think and label anyone who ISN'T voting for Obama, a racist.

Gee whiz!

You think Joe the plumber is Joe Six Pack's cousin?

I disagree, this debate was a lot more direct and engaging.

I dunno. It seemed to me like they had the transcript from the last debate, and said the phrases exactly the way they did in the last one. When describing their policies and their position on some of the issues, they sounded like a repeating sound byte. Yes, their positions aren't gonna change, but the words you use CAN be put in ANY order LOL

Sorry. But I think that his ethnicity will play a huge part in him loosing votes from the Democratic party.

No apologies needed, and yes, there are ignorant idiots that won't vote for him because of that. You implied I was one of the people, and it offended me. I don't want to be grouped with them. Your arguement is relevant, just not with me included! And it's unfortunate. Like my two grandmothers. They ALWAYS vote democrat no matter what. Both of them aren't voting. But, it's not because he's black. They're two ladies in their 80s who believe the hype about his connections. I wouldn't be too surprised if more people didn't vote him because of this whole Ayers/Wright etc issue than the color of his skin. My grandmothers are a testament to that! it's unfortunate, yes, but as with any candidate, it's gonna happen.
