How odd that your friend's "helmet" is "dry, cracked."

The description seems to impugn circumcision in a pejorative manner. I've never known anyone to have, exhibit, or complain about his penis as dry and cracked unless there were some external cause, such as masturbating with soap in the shower, etc.

As a newbie, you may be unaware that you can add a poll to your thread. One might suggest you do so, and perhaps add a couple of other questions about race and gun control so that you might assure controversy in an only slightly more obvious attempt.

That's why newbies leave HT too soon.

Its not like I said all cut males have cracked glans, yes uncut males have a softer and smoother glans due to it been protected by the foreskin. uncut males have not had their glans rubbing on underwear or Nappies, diapers, or what ever they had worn around them
but cut males have had been rubbing their glans on clothing and being exposed to the air it sure dries out and my boyfriend said
he has had a few problems with his dry knob. That is the best way i can explain my question. Thanks.

I don't think it's fair that as a baby boy, your parents choose to make that decision for you.



I have no special preferences over uncut or cut penis.


It's just that I'm glad that I have that option of whether I want to remove my foreskin in the future or not.

I believe the question is a good one to be asked, Why? What is the purpose?

What happened, happened, those who claim any victimhood on this issue or are angry at their parents because they went with "standard" procedures of a particular era would in all likelihood find another reason to be angry if they had foreskin.

That does not mean that we should not ask, Why? How did this become a standard procedure in modern times? What is the purpose?
Why is the USA still one of the only major industrialized nations to do this?

Should it be stopped?

There are indeed more important questions to be asked today, but this one is IMO pretty easy to answer, do a little research and see how circumcision was brought about by doctors who thought that it would restrict masturbation, they believed the j/o was the cause of many problems. Epilepsy, retardation, club feet etc.

If there is no benefit, why do it?

Some say it keeps boys cleaner, ok, that means that we don't have to tell Billy to pull back his foreskin and clean under it, we have avoided talking to a boy about his penis, hell, most people in America to this day can't say penis without feeling embarrassed. So if we snip the skin we can avoid this talk, poor excuse to keep cutting boys.

Some say it looks better, we have another thread going about the appearance of a vagina, even some str8 guys aren't enamored at their appearance, should we "pretty" them up though surgery?

People just like to blame their parents for stuff. Including sex problems.

At various stages, doctors just got knife-happy excising various body parts.
Tonsils and appendixes were often removed without cause, teeth were filled without need, we even had surgeons clumsily administering lobotomies (brain damage) as a cure-all for any number of problems.
Circumcision just seems to be an extension of that same logic.
