I thinks its interesting to consider the origins of circumcision. People from different places and different cultures from all over the planet perform them on children, all the way through to young men. It makes me think it must be rooted somewhere in the human psyche, how else would it show up in so many completely different places. I don't think its a result of religion. i think it came before that and worked its way into many religions.
Either way I'm circumcised and I don't have an issue with it. I don't think it should be illegal though. I doubt it ever would be in my country though.

Well...the GOOD news is that if Nazism rises again in Germany, the SS will have a harder time figuring out which guys are the Jews this time 'round.
And so, what with global antisemitism and Aryan supremacy on the rise, Jewish youths might not want to complain too much about keeping the nibbly bit until they can...get out of Germany alive.
Of course, the BAD news is that it will be rough going for those who elect to undergo circumcision as an adult. I mean, between the surgery, the mental preparation and the fact that adult skin just doesn't heal its scars as easily or beautifully, I suspect there will be a rise in market shares for Percocet and Valium in Germany in the near future.
So maybe...the pharmaceutical companies are actually behind this whole idea.
I mean, think of the salves, ointments and pain killers they'll be able to sell to men post-op circumcision.
Although...in more GOOD news, it should be more FUN for doctors and mohels, too, in Germany. Just think of the big, weighty grown cocks those men will be able to heft and hold as they go about circumcision from now on.
I have the very real sense that we will see many more gay men becoming rabbis and physicians in the coming years.

My mom says that I pulled the plastic circumcision ring off my infant dick... and then I proceeded to scream to high heaven.
I am hoodless, though. It's a tradition for males in my family; my son would probably be the same (if I had one).

I find circumcision to be an odd practice. However, I feel it ultimately really doesn't matter and the militants on this board screaming about it being mutilation are ridiculous to me. I don't feel I've been mutilated. I'm quite happy with my penis. I'm dating an Italian guy who is uncut so I've become familiar with how foreskins work and I really don't feel like I'm missing much of anything. I like his penis. He likes mine. A good time is had by all.

I don't give a fuck what anyone says, when I have kids, if they are boys, they're getting circumcised. Besides the few posts I've seen on here, I don't know a single guy who is circumcised that wishes he wasn't. I had a friend in high school was laughed at by a girl when she saw he was uncut, then she refused to have sex with him and left. And he isn't alone in that - a group of girls who sat at the table next to us started talking about it (because the twat who laughed at him went and told everyone) and every single one of them said they wouldn't have sex with a guy who was uncut. That sparked a conversation at my table among the girls who agreed with them. I also had a very traumatizing experience with an uncut penis as did my cousin (though the experience was his own). I am extremely glad my parents had me circumcised and that they did it while I was fresh out of the womb instead of "letting me decide when I was older" and then having to remember the experience my entire life.

When my parents had me circumcised they did it lovingly and entirely unnecessarily. Now that medical knowledge, and ethics, and human rights, have advanced, there is no excuse for doing that to a child unless there is a pressing and immediate medical reason.
So I don't care what anybody here doesn't care about. It is barbaric and abusive.

Whereas I'm glad that the men you know are okay with being circumcised, many are not. And I don't think "there are girls (or guys) who find it more attractive" is adequate justification for the procedure. There are a lot of gay men who are disgusted by body hair, but I absolutely love mine. If at birth my parents gave the okay for a procedure that somehow resulted in my body being unable to grow hair just because they thought people wouldn't find me attractive otherwise, I'd be pissed.

My point exactly. His own words condemn him. Had his bf not been circumcised, they would not have dated. He would have missed out on loving him. Conditional love is no love at all.

I'm sure that most of the circumcised guys would prefer to be uncircumcised if they grew up uncircumcised; likewise, most of the uncircumcised guys would prefer to be circumcised if they grew up circumcised. Customs (and being accustomed) really do matter.
I think I have a problem with trying to legislate discretionary practices like circumcision, though. Consider this analogous situation: I'm vegan. I've chosen to be vegan because to me it's obvious that animals suffer as we raise them and slaughter them to eat them. I could declare (quite legitimately), "I don't care what anybody here doesn't care about! Raising and killing animals for food is barbaric and abusive!"
If I proposed to outlaw eating meat, meat-eaters would think I were absurd. Well, people who practice circumcision (for religious reasons, for example) probably think it absurd for that particular religious rite to be outlawed--especially since the male-child isn't usually impaired in the process.
