In all honesty though, think about it. Think about how many unfit fathers who are too uncomfortable to explain cleaning yourself down there. These people that suck at life are gonna have kids whether we like it or not, so there's at least a small good aspect, right? Hahahah. I'm circumcized and I don't really know how I feel about it. I have a ring of darker skin from it though, which weirded me out once. That should be addressed/explained.

I don't see why its a big deal.. Oh, so the circumsized penis doesnt feel the sexual sensastion as much.. So, we last a few seconds longer! Woo hoo! We're still just as addicted to sex as any non-circumsized-member-bearer would be. I think its a win win for everyone.

Are you honestly suggesting that the mutilation of a child (who cannot consent to this procedure) purely for reasons of superstition is appropriate?

The indoctrination of children with religion is bad enough, a child is no more a Jew or a Christian than he a member of the Postal Worker's Union or the Conservative Party, to mutilate their genitals in the name of 'God' is cruel, unecessary and abusive.

Yes I am cut, but that isnt even the point. I don't understand why people debate this. I was utturly surprised when I saw the first of these threads and I couldn't understand why these supposed men where being such little bitches.

I mean, who the fuck cares? We don't get a choice in a lot of things as we grow up. Why does no one call for child abuse when a parent has their childs ear pierced? Isn't that a barbaric act of putting a thing in your ear for nothing more than looks?

I cannot see how an operation, which has no benefit to anybody, is in the best interests of the child (who cannot consent or refuse treatment).

Or does ethics not apply when religion/tradition/superstition/stupidity is involved?

Reduced incidence of penile cancer,
Reduced incidence of phismosis and infections associated with the prepuce,
Reduced risk of STI/HIV transmission,
Reduced incidence of cervical cancer in female partners (HPV may be carried in the foreskin and be passed on to the partner... I bet there's a reduced incidence of anal cancer among gay males too, but I haven't read any research on that)

Currently the major pediatric societies don't recommend for or against circumcision, however comments that there are no medical benefits are simply ignorant.

Religion is way to heavy in decision in a lot of countries. I don't really see the reason the circumcise really, what's the point outside of a religious belief?

Last time I checked, Parents don't force their kids to get their eats pierced.

It is their religious view, just like most religions dont like homosexuality. It is something we like to call ritual. We have ritual and tradition in secular stuff. Like how our government is run. Your morning ritual every morning. The changing of the guard. The routine you follow everyday. I don't see this much difference. They arn't harming the children, and the children usually don't give a shit. (of course you believe it is "child abuse")(well not you Ben)

OH! and I believe at birth, if it is a girl, they are offered to have their daughters ears pierce. And you see more baby girls with a stud in their ears. surely that is child abuse and unnecessary? (it is unnecessary, but that isnt the point) but alas, it is a tradition and for some, ritual and apart of society.

Bah Humbug. Circumcision should be done by doctors, only if it was medically necessary. It's almost like asking your milkman to pull your bad tooth, or your paper delivery boy to give you an colonectomy.
