As far as the person who made a sarcastic comment about babies not having sex, if the HIV prevention thing is accurate, then guys should get cut as babies so that they won't remember the painful procedure.

Massachusetts is set to be the first state to ban (excludes when medically necessary) infant male circumcision!! The MGM bill made it's way to Congress on 12 Jan 2010 plus to 12 other states. Hip hip horray. Can only wait & hope.

Does this law make an exception for circumcision performed for religious reasons? If not, there are going to be a lot of pissed-off Jews and Muslims in MA.

OK first.. YOU may have issues with uncut dicks.. but those are your issues... some of us think cut dicks are gross and think that men should be able to choose once they're adults. That choice should not be taken away by their parents any more than a girl should have her labia removed to keep her form enjoying sex.

As far as the studies about HIV infection go.. You'll also lower your risk with condoms a lot more than you will with cutting the end off your dick. Circumcision might work in 3rd world countries where condoms aren't a reality... we don't live in Zaire.

And, to be frank (not the skinless kind, mind you), I find the ritual/superstitious/party excuse for infant circumcision to be the creepiest and most humiliating of any I’ve ever heard.

Well, to be fair: When you're circumcised as a baby, there's far less scarring then when it's done as an adult.


But actually, i'm personally against ANY non life-saving, painful surgery being performed on someone without analgesia and their consent. At least wait until the kid's old enough to get a local.

I'm with elvin, to each his own, if you're pissed about getting circumcised as a baby, go yell at your parents. I'm circumcised, and I don't feel violated or anything. I don't care if a guy is cut or not when it comes to sex. It seems to be much ado about nothing to me...

Also, infants have input that can be disregarded? I'm just saying that I personally don't get the hullabaloo. It's not comparable to FGM in any case.

Silly silly Brio...then they can countersue for Possible unauthorized trespass and occupancy in a private facility..(un planned pregnancy) or for the cost of room, board and medical/dental expense plus damages for emotional stress and the list goes on.

Kinda silly to start all that over a small flap (so to speak)But this vital debate is no skin off my nose so I shan't get involved.

Having been handicapped (cut) since birth I cannot give this topic an un biased opinion...I prefer the person, not the parts. To me uncut looks like a sea cucumbers and cut like barber poles but I have no antipathy towards sea cucumbers or barber poles so it is a moot point..


If I were to select something that really irks me it would be the misuse of terms like being sarcastic or being droll. There is a difference and yes, I have tried to exhibit both in this post.

Lets form some committees have them study id depth the meaning of droll and sarcastic. Then have sub-committees formed to debate all possible interpretations and implications and the possibility of even possible altercations over this first.

We should probably allow 45-60 days for this. We can then reconvene the two main committees form a joint research team to comb each and every post in this thread to determine what was plain English and what it actually meant, what was droll observation and what was sarcastic commentary.

Then we COULD return to the first paragraph (primary issue) of the opening post in this thread. I believe a practical time line for that to occur would be...THE DAY HELL FREEZES OVER. Of course this may conflict with the GORE prognosis of global warming but, thankfully that is another totally separate issue.

I'm sorry I find it hard to believe that there isn't a more serious issue facing children than this.
Hunger, homelessness, physical and sexual abuse regardless of the sex of the child come to mind.
Foreskin or no foreskin not a big life changing issue. For those of you who were circumcised as infants and have problems with it now... you have bigger issues to deal with.

I'm going to mention some stuffs which has already been mentioned above.

Circumcision do not reduce the risks of any STDs or UTIs. True it is that some researches prove men with uncut dicks have greater risks of catching STDs, but that is only caused by bad hygiene. When the hygiene factor is disregarded, the odds of diseases are the same.

About the circumcision law, since circumcision is not a must, it is actually the best to let the child himself choose whether or not they want to be circumcised, which implies to let them grow up. The problem here is that circumcision is a part of some cultures and/or religions. This makes the issue become complicated, especially because some people tend to see circumcision as an obligatory, not an option. Moreover, the information regarding circumcision circulates rather poorly, thus the misconception continues to flow.

But contrary to the informed consent, I never heard of anyone circumcised since they were infants ever complained about wanting their foreskin back. Maybe there actually are some, but I can't see the point of arguing over a flap of skin hooding the penis glans. And also, aside from hygiene and anatomical issues, there is no main differences between a cut and an uncut cock; hence the issue being trivial.

In the end, not that I'm being pessimistic, but maybe it's the best to just let the thing go by.

And now I must prepare for possible incoming trolls...

But, this administration did advertise change and I guess your more direct,

to the point, analysis would represent that change. Not as creative or as fun

I'll pass.

I'm not about to become part of some virtual terrorist/tyranny group that feels it has the right to dictate, or grandstand, to parents about the (non) circumcision of their (← keyword) infant sons. If I ever have a baby boy, I'll make the decision about whether or not he'll be circumcised, but no one is going to dictate to me about it.

"Their kid" may be a "key word" for you, but genital mutilation is not like a decision to get your kid to go through chemotherapy or get a tumor removed. I think the baby should not be made to lose a portion of his penis just because parents decided thats what they wanted. Children are not parents' property, you can say, "I will do whatever I want to my yard", but no, you shouldn't be able to do whatever you want to your kids. Just because something has been a tradition does not mean it should be continued without question. We need to respect our baby boys penises' integrity.

Jasun, our sense of aesthetics is subjective.

I find cut dicks prettier because they're tighter. An uncut dick looks like the same loose flabby skin you see on a flabby stomach.

But of course, many—perhaps most—people think cut ones look "butchered".

<shrugs shoulders>It's all a matter of preference.

I don't think the issue here is how good or bad a mutilated or unmutilated penis looks to a homosexual, it is about a baby's right to choose if he wants his penis mutilated.
