Of that 23,000 only around 1% of the earnings will be given to the pediatrician who preformed the procedure. The other 99% will find its way going back to the insurance companies and overhead....

Not trying to start a debate here, but the reason why people get hung up on it is because it is (no matter how you look at it) an unnecessary medical operation on an infant.

I really don't care if a guy is cut or uncut, as long as he's happy. I just don't like the fact that infants are made to undergo needless medical operations. They should be able to decide for themselves when they grow up whether or not they'd like to have that procedure done or not.

Who decides the basis of necessity or non-necessity. Either way, I'm just playing devils advocate right here. You can support anything really with semantics..

It might be an unnecessary operation but I'm sure glad my parents had me circumcised. Not a fan of the foreskin!! In fact i'ts a total deal breaker for me!! Lucky for me most american men are circumcised.

Because a lot of men ( Gay and Straight), especially on here are either shallow or rattled with a plethora of psychopathologies.... That and selection bias... this site basically attracts a certain type of man ( Let's call them pornophiles) and basically that compounds the overall vocalness of issues such as this and shallowness. Overall the gay community is pretty silent about this issue and can respect another persons choice or the choice of the parent to do something in what they believe is in the best interest of the child.

So is all cosmetic surgery, getting your ears pierced, and lasic eye surgery. It does have it's pros and cons, so if people feel comfortable with it, it's their child and their decision.


On another point though, anyone who says "uncut dicks are a total deal breaker" can blow me. When a dick is up your ass, you're not going to notice a difference.

You're right "necessity" might be a bit of a strong word.

I guess superfluous would be a better way of saying it.

Circumcising an infant who has no choice in the matter seems superfluous since it serves little to no important purpose whereas vaccinations do serve an important purpose (reduce chances of life threatening illnesses).
