ok I feel sorry for Paris now--damn-it

Ok saw this a can't help myself. If she's acting she's a lot better than I would have ever thought.    ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Finally, she feels bad! Not for anything she has done, but for herself! So what? No one wants to go to jail or feels good about it! She did something that deserves the sentence! Shut up and go, already! Millions of people have done it! If she is worth a shit, she will come out of it okay. If not; she is who she is....(!)

I agree you do the crime you do the time. BUT what they are doing to her is just not right. Put her in or take her out, they need to make up their minds. Its just pitiful now. Theres people that are out there for murder getting treated better.

Oh shame, i also feel bad for paris too. Come on people, its not nice to ridicule a crying woman. I think she deserves her time but let her do it with some dignity.

Ok, you all make good points -- both on the pro and the con side. However, what gripes me is the fact that she had planned a party after her release to home confinement. To me, that is just her way of thumbing her nose at the whole situation. Were she remorseful about her actions, and were she understanding of the chance she had been given to move to home confinement, I doubt she would have scheduled a celebration. If she is going to play the sympathy card, she needs to act the part -- she is supposed to be an actress, no? Can't have your cake and eat it too, princess. Nice try.

I don't feel sorry for the daft bint. She should be in prison...her sentence was already cut.

Her tears do not make me feel sorry for her in one way. Maybe that is cold.

Her being allowed home is not justice.

She is doing it with dignity, she's in solitary confinement so she doesn't have to mix with the "criminals."

Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing prison time in a 2 million dollar estate.

She's supposed to be sad, she's going to prison. I've never been, but I imagine it's not a happy place where you walk in with a big smile on your face. I can't believe some of you sympathize just because she cried.

I wouldn't worry too much about some spoilt barfly.

A few weeks in a protected prison cell isn't the end of the world. Plus she and her lawyers have put her through this by trying to work the system instead of just sitting out her time, which would probably have been commuted quietly after the initial fanfare.

Plus also she'll never have to work a day in a life or worry about healthcare or any of the other issues that cause lots of real unhappiness or for many other people.

There are plenty of other much more deserving folk to feel sorry about.

..| spensed2. You make a good point. There are a lot of more deserving ppl to feel sorry for. For you Americans out there, it is a pretty sad state-of-affairs when the top news story is Paris. Guilty as charged -- as I am here ranting. But spensed2 is right, there are better ppl with whom to be concerned.

Pardon me if i don't feel sorry for the "poor little rich girl".

She thought she could use her money and family status to get away with something for which any "normal" person would likely have been MORE heavily punished.

As I just posted at EC - I really think the punishment would have been more appropriate if she had have been forced to do community service for a significant period of time - say getting down and dirty in a soup kitchen for the homeless. Oh and I don't men flouncing around looking important and getting photos taken - I mean peeling vegetables and washing dishes for several hours at a time.

i didn't read any comments above so skip this if it was written but I read online that her medical condition was a very nasy flair up of herpes that traveled to her anus causing open sore. It was said the stress brought out the nasty outbreak. I wonder if that's true? Anyway, I don't know why but I feel for her. To see anyone that upset is just not a good thing. I'm not a fan or anything but I just hate to see anyone in that much pain. If the herpes thing is true than that has to be awful!! Everyone would know and what a mess!

TriBi -- only one problem with your suggestion --

Paris: "What is a vegetable?" "What does peel mean?" "Like a facial peel?" "And about these dishes, don't we just throw them away when they are soiled? Oh no, my bad, we have servants to do that"

Speaking that picture, guys, this totally recontextualizes the picture. Which makes me wanna shoot myself.

A Parisless world for 45 days :D
We should be so lucky. But I'm sure CNN and MSNBC will be covering her daily in a battle for ratings. In her absence, Larry King will interview everyone associated with her, starting with her dog.

Would you still feel sorry for her if, while driving drunk and unlicensed, she'd hit another car and injured or killed innocent people? What if the photo we were looking at now was of a mother crying for her dead child that Paris killed?

Get a grip! She is a spoilt brat who is used to getting her own way. 45 days is an absurdly small punishment for her crime, considering the special treatment she's getting.

Camparing the tears of that spoiled bitch, to that horrible Vietnam War picture is blasphemy.

American values have gone downhill :(
