The media tends to inflate and sensationalize everything it does, often in pushing a personal agenda. You cannot believe that every Democrat and every Republican is a particular way because of what you see on TV or from a Youtube video.

I do not have anything personal against President Obama, and I realize that there are a lot of things working against him. However, I am against the growing of our Federal Government.

I am an Independent and have never been a member of a political party. I have friends from different backgrounds and we can learn from each other without being hateful and using derogatory names. I actually like the Governor of my state, who is a Democrat. He has done a great job and was instrumental in bringing more health care solutions to our state. In my opinion, the state and the local governments know a little better of what its citizens need than the Federal Government does.

My main objection is having more intrusion on my personal liberty on things that the Federal Government has no business doing in the first place. If I would like to purchase health insurance, that should be my choice through my employer or from another company. Moreover, I would like to see market reforms in place so that there is more competition and prices could be better negotiated. Do we really want the IRS, the Secretary of Health and Human Services and other agencies involved in our health care? I had mentioned this last year, but one group that will be exempt from this law will be the Amish. They do not pay for health insurance and generally do just fine. The average citizen may not agree with their lifestyle, but perhaps there is a lesson there somewhere. And as I told another poster when I originally posted it: no, I'm not moving to Lancaster to join the Amish. As free citizens, we should not have to join a special group or move to a deserted island (as was suggested in another recent thread) just to be a free citizen.

To sum it up, I try to have an open mind and listen to everyone's views. I may not have voted for President Obama but he was the choice that was made and we must move on from all the bitterness. This does not mean that we should ignore something that we find objectionable. Perhaps the approach of some is a little out there and does not make sense, but we all need to work together in all this.

There would be a need for more doctors and nurses since more can get treatment... more clinics will be built and the purpose of medicine won't be about $... only about helping the people! TO KEEP US ALIVE AND STRONG.

A Man cried with a sign begging the country he loves so much to save his life and that he was dying and people gave him dirty looks shouting "You're not getting a free lunch here get it somewhere ELSE!!!" It was just cold and harsh... that people could turn someone away like that and not think their life has no value? Is that what we've come down to? Fucking heartless because we pay 2 dollars for every hundred... even if people like me under 250000 even get effected at all? For that small price that pays for something more valuable to treat our citizens with a chance to survive? For Companies to save funds and not pay insurances but a small tax increase of 2%?

I was never really politically swayed by either side growing up but I was more so moved by promises and speeches...wooed with cunning words and hope. I actually cried when Obama was elected...at this time I thought it was a miracle. Now I see the horrible truth of things. BOTH sides are compromised.

After watching some documentaries about what was all happening and how it really is, I was blown away with an information overload.


For anyone who has grown up and never really took sides, these films will be an honest and refreshing look and a non-partisan view on not only OUR government structure but the condition of the tyrannical state the whole world is in right now.

State health care providers that are free are shitty because the rich want an decrease of 2% and that the state health has a very shot budget worth hardly anything worth good health care. If public health had the funds it needed then it wouldn't be a health system like medicade/medicare it's be more efficacy and helpful to the American people. Some people pay a large sum of $ or else they will die because they have no insurance and can barely survive!

The elderly are not affected.. they are still entitled to health benefits. What source did you get your information from that said "grandma and grandpa" are getting affected in a terrible way?

The problem is that there's no such thing as something being free. If it is given to you, it was taken from someone else. If I accept it, I endorse that taking -- no different than a feudal lord accepting a fine roast on his table that was taken from a peasant family.

There's a way beyond that, but it requires a few important things:

1. Non-human labor, i.e. automation.
2. Essentially unlimited energy.
3. Raw materials without cost.

If we get our robotics better, develop safe fusion power, and get probes into the asteroids to locate ones with materials we need so factory ships could go out and process them even while hauling them back, we could provide clothing and shelter free for all, along with transportation, and communication. Throw in anything else that's easy to make -- hand tools and kitchenware, for example.

That covers most of the things I currently spend my money on. Free those up, and anyone at all could afford the rest.

The majority of this country is so downright STUPID that its sickening. The past 8 years our government totally betrayed my trust and it will take ALOT for them to get it back again. But to WHAT extent must that person go to GET that financially successful? Before Bush.. we had laws to protect the economy that regulated how much businesses could compete. If businesses and major corporations could use cut-throat techniques to make the most profit.. it will end in disaster. But no, Bush removed the Anti-Trust Laws set in place to regulate fair competitive rates. Here is the domino Effect.

Reagonomics believes that if you allow the wealthy to collect more money and then lower their taxes.. they will reinvest in the economy and it will all trickle down. If a rich person argues about their taxes being more then 15% while I pay 30%... they are obviously not going to follow the rules of ergonomics by reinvesting into the economy to keep it flowing. They keep it all to themselves. They see money as power.. an addiction. If you want one cent.. get the fuck outta their face. If you want a higher wage.. you are
hurting the idea of reagonomics because the rich should be making a more profit, and its wrong if you ask to be given a chance to make a better living. Its not their fault if you are dying and need medication, they will just replace you because you're gonna die anyway and your medical needs will cost them money even if it saves ur life. Not all rich people are like that, mind you. If we allow one bank or company to fail... what happens to those jobs and to the stock invested in the bankrupt cooperations? Its GONE. Wal-Mart is allowed to now send jobs overseas and have the lowest prices... other stores can't compete.. so they go out of business.. and it effects entire CHAINS. More jobs get lost.. more stock loss... A loss in medical insurance while some couldn't afford to pay for it because the Premiums were raised by 29% which led to why in 2009 Obama said we need medical reform. WAKE UP People! People can't pay the mortgage especially when Bush allowed MONOPOLIES to do whatever they want and raise the interest rates to whatever they wished.. and made a 250% profit off of struggling families. More people collect unemployment.. Meanwhile The anti-democrats shrug and say oh well its the corporate world Not our fault. So all the jobs that get lost by walmart for example.. Sure walmart created jobs.. but destroyed how many to get those jobs? Does it make up? If you had good insurance with your old job and was forced to accept a lower paying job like walmart you couldn't get the same positive benefits.. because even though Walmart is stinking rich.. they don't care about you. You're a replaceable car part and if you complain.. they will fire you. How fair is that?

Now because of Bush people couldn't get better jobs.. the money in the nation started to tighten FAST. The stock market crashed because more millionares became BILLIONARES and all the money flowed into the smaller percentage of America's wallets. 80% of the nations revenue was paid by the poor and middle class Americans. The majority of this nation is poor and middle class. We are the engine of the economy. Yet as the nation went bankrupt.. we had to bail out the RICH people because they fucked up with all the risky investments and high rates. We ended up passing the expensive stimulus bill to try and get the nation going again and start over... it costs money to declare bankruptcy and get your life going again.. If the stimulus was not passed.. where would our nation have gone? You can't let a mess just SIT THERE it will get WORSE.

If I were a billionaire it would be entertaining to toss a couple hundred million into an endowment to start a new political party, the "Up Yours!" Party, just to see how many people it would attract. Or, better, the Up Yours Foundation, which would exist to get people who normally don't vote to go out and vote for anyone not a Republican or Democrat. We'd have contests, where people could mail in a copy of their cert or receipt or whatever from voting, and winners would be drawn from that -- lots of small winners, no millionaire crap (like lots of new cars and appliances).

But I suspect that to make any real dent in the present system would take an endowment of more like ten billion -- there's that much entrenched corruption in both parties.
