Oh, my mom would hate something like that. She's not the Hallmark sentimental type.

How about a weekend retreat at a bed and breakfast? Someplace nearby where they could do a little traveling and site-seeing and shopping.

I mean... I got her stuff and it's already been dispatched but I think her kitchen is pretty stocked and perfume sets are so... "thing in a box at the store in a pile of easy gifts."

And a salon day is SO not what my mother would want and besides, she lives in a rural Atlantic Canadian town with no salon. She's a Harpsichordist so no nail-doing.

I got her a hand-blown glass vase from an artist I found on the National Geographic website in South America. Gonna cost me a bundle to get it to her in time, but She'll like something unique and rare like that. I need to get her something that she can't get where she lives. And it's pretty cool... I'd have it in my house, too.
