Do you guys really put french fries on your salads?

A friend of mine who lives there sent me a pic of his lunch. Do you guys really eat this sort of thing?

Despite my protest to him that tossing on fries and all of that cheese can turn a regular salad into a nutritional nightmare, it looks oddly appealing.

*note the DIET 7-Up with the frenchfry-laden salad and full-fat dressing*

lol

What other weird foods do people eat? Got any pics?

And people complain when we put gravy and cheese on our fries...:p

Just to verify, I do not do that. I don't even like cheese on my salad either, just a plain Garden Salad with French Dressing

Better than French FRIES.

lol

Damn, that looks good!!! :luv2:

Oddly, it really does. My friend tells me it doesn't look like something most people would eat, but it's really "yummy."

I told him when I hit PA for a visit, I'll have to try one just for the hell of it. Which is saying a lot for me because I'm a serious food snob!

I think that looks pretty awesome..try french fries on a turkey and cheese sandwich or hoagie or nacho cheese doritoes on a mcdonalds filet o fish sandwich.... ahhh Heaven:rainfro:

Ahh, now see, I DO like Doritos on sandwiches. I'll make a sandwich and when I'm in the mood for it, lay some Doritos on it and smash them down onto the sandwich, then crunch away.

Mmmmmmmmmm.......

You already know my love of mayonaise. I really like it on cold asparagas too! with a little lemon juice! ;)

OMG

Asparagus used to be one of my favorite vegetables. Then it happened to be the very last thing I ate before I became deathly sick with the flu and I haven't been able to look at it since.

lol

Gravy on french fries?

Doesn't that get a little mushy? French fries are supposed to be dipped in ketchup!

Nah...and good thick gravy too!!!!Hmmm...now thats the ticket....

Now this is called a pie floater...famous in South Australia...

Its a meat pie, floating in sea of mushy peas and tomato sauce (ketchup!)...

In Yorkshire, in the north of England, they put mushy peas and gravy on their chips (French Fries). Some times curry sauce

Only salt and vinegar should go on chips ..|

Okay, the mushy peas I could probably handle. The curry sauce? No.

Don't like curry at all.

But I loooooove malt vinegar on fried fish.

Unfortunately I very rarely eat anything fried.

French Fries with gravy are very popular in Quebec. Here is Wikipedia's article on it.....

Poutine (pronounced, roughly, poo-teen, or poo-tin) is a dish consisting of french fries topped with fresh cheese curds and covered with hot gravy (usually brown gravy) and sometimes other additional ingredients. The curds' freshness is important as it makes them soft in the warm fries, without completely melting.
Poutine is a fast food staple in Canada; it is sold by many fast food chains (such as New York Fries and Harvey's) in the provinces, in small diners and pubs, as well as by roadside "poutine trucks" and "fries stands". International chains like McDonalds, A&W, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Burger King now sell mass-produced poutine across Canada. Popular Québec restaurants that serve poutine include Lafleur Restaurants, La Belle Province, and St-Hubert.
Poutine is available in only a few places outside of Canada, including the northern United States and a handful of Canadian-themed restaurants and pubs throughout the rest of the world. Some popular Canadian travel destinations (such as Mexico, Florida, and Taiwan) are also known to have poutine available, but only sporadically or at the behest of Canadian expatriates

Damn right :D I worked at La Belle Province making the fries from scratch (none of that frozen paper bag full of hollow potato tubes like what they have at McD's).

Ever tried Non-brewed vinegar Chis?

It makes fried fish (and chips) taste fantastic! (!)

No, I don't believe I've tried that.

And I need to get that answer to you!

Thanks for the info ;)

Very interesting, how things differ from one place to the next.
