I'm interested to know if you think Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Ann Coulter, Dick Cheney, etc. should also be locked in a rubber room?

All of the talking heads should. They're only good for entertainment. The sad part is that Olbermann actually thinks he's a journalist.

Please display for me where they called anyone a racist, homophobe, etc. and then we will talk. This isn't about anyone but Keith Olberman. You can't defend what he did so you try to change the subject. Sorry that isn't working anymore. This isn't Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter or Glen Beck. This is about Keith Olberman unhinged.

I love how he says "ex-nude model" so derisively. So much for free speech. any lefties on this porn site want to stand up to Olberman giving Brown shit over that? Never mind that he was in law school at the time and only did the one spread. Not like he made a career out of it.

So you think calling someone a homophobe is worse than actually being a homophobe?

So who exactly are you calling a homophobe. Again please provide for me the video clip of any of those mentioned saying they hate gay people. It is time to stop the accusations without the back up. You assume that if someone doesn't support a particular position that you have they hate gay people. This is simply not true. I know a lot of people that don't want marriage changed but are in favor of a civil union that would grant identical rights with a different name. Would you call them homophobes as well? Is it the overturn of their concept of marriage or getting the rights that is important? One is easily available even in most southern states the other is going to be a long hard battle with even a huge amount of democrats in opposition.

Olberman occasionally gets out there, but he has his facts straight a lot more often that Limbaugh or Coulter.

So besides throwing out an unfounded insult, what was this thread about? Or can you provide documentation that he's got his facts wrong?

Be careful on that one, because it's possible to google at least a couple of Olbermann's assertions and find out he's right (I make no claims for the others one way or the other).

He is all that the left complains about in Rush and then some. The man is full of hate and anger and virtually foams at the mouth when things don't go his way. He has no basis for calling him many of those things. He is just spewing out his hatred and making the same baseless attacks he makes on anything or anyone Republican. He would actually be deserving of pity if he weren't so damn hateful.

Isn't there more important things to worry about then getting into pissing contests about who has the biggest lunatic?

Those are only a FEW examples. So if you want to bring something up that Keith has said that you think is outrageous then I have every right to ask you why you didn't create a thread about Rush, or Glen, Or Ann when they said the previous things?

So what were you saying? :-)

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

What race do you think Obama was referring to?

"This president, I think, has exposed himself as a guy, over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture," Beck said. "I don't know what it is."

Following up on Beck's ridiculous claim, Fox's Brian Kilmeade pointed out that Obama is surrounded by white advisers like David Axelrod, Robert Gibbs and Rahm Emanuel.

"I'm not saying he doesn't like white people," Beck said. "I'm saying he has a problem. He has a -- this guy is, I believe, a racist."

So you think if the professor had been white Obama would have been on his side and made a huge deal of it. This was one of his first major screw ups and it didn't play out well for him. You need to look at it in context of what was happening at the time. Remember the Beer Summit that he set up after he got egg all over his face for not having his facts straight.

Some of the clips didn't work but I did not hear anything close to the hate filled emotional rant that Olberman did.

The Point is you are ONLY pointing out something an obvious liberal said that was outrageous and completely blinded by the fact that you are being hypocritical. If you are going to start this thread on what Keith said tonight then I challenge you from here on out to start another thread the next time a conservative says some outrageous shit. Will you do that? Or will you turn cheek because they are conservative? The choice is yours.

Have a nice day.:D

If I ever hear someone on the right make an outrageous hate filled emotional rant like that you can be assured that I will be pissed and will make it a point to bring it up for discussion. At this point I haven't heard it.

So I see you posted this quote in another thread:

"Short of wack jobs like Fred Phelps and Pat Roberson I don't see a lot of rabid antigay sentiment. There are pockets of uneducated red necks that still hold those views but things are loosening up and changing even there."

Now I'm sure you can google many a things said by these two "wack jobs" that you might find outrageous.
:-)

Trust me, just because YOU haven't heard someone on the right go off on an outrageous rant doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

You should watch C-Span when gay rights bills are being debated.

Who knows, you might actually have a new found respect for Democrats when you actually hear their passioned speeches in favor of equality.

C-Span? Isn't that the channel the President promised to air the Healthcare negotiations on? Hmm, no C-span allowed when the nation's future is at stake?

I have a lot of respect for you personally though I don't think we agree on much in the area of politics. I honestly believe you are a hell of a guy and I believe you to be honest and admire the passion with which you share your views. For me gay rights are important but if we have no jobs and are weak of defense it is all for naught. We have to get the country back on a solid footing if that can even be done at this point. The Republicans and Democrats alike have equal responsibility for the current mess we are in. During the Clinton years divided government seemed the most balanced and effective way to get things done. We have to do something different and soon cause this shit ain't working. I am a Republican and favor most not all of the policies of my party but I am not ignorant of the opportunities we wasted when we had control of all three branches. The Dems are now making the very same mistakes with a leftist slant as opposed to a rightward one.

I would love to see a party rise up and replace one of these parties and the chances of that are growing but they are still quite remote. I love the views of most libertarians but they cannot win elections at this point so I can't risk voting for them things are just too critical right now. We are on life support and there are many out there that would love to pull our plug.

Happy to see others think that Olberman is a nutcase. I try to watch the guy from time-to-time but it's REALLY hard.

His buddy Ed Schutz should be shelved too.

Here's Rush's Top Ten racist comments, as decreed by NewsOne:

1. “Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”

2. “Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.”

3. “Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”

4. “The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”

5. “They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”

6. [To an African American female caller]: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”

7.” I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.”

8. Limbaugh’s many attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not Black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for Black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

9. “We need segregated buses… This is Obama’s America.”

10. “Obama’s entire economic program is reparations/”

Some Glenn Beck classics:

1. "This president I think has exposed himself over and over again as a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture....I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist." -on President Obama, sparking an advertiser exodus from his FOX News show

2. "I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. ... No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out. Is this wrong?" -musing about what he would do for $50 million

3. "When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh shut up' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining." –"The Glenn Beck Program," Sept. 9, 2005 (Source)

4. "The only [Katrina victims] we're seeing on television are the scumbags." –"The Glenn Beck Program," Sept. 9, 2005 (Source)

5. "I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today." –on why people who lost their homes in forest fires in California had it coming, "The Glenn Beck Program," Oct. 22, 2007 (Source)

6. "I have been nervous about this interview with you because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies. ... And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way." –interviewing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim U.S. congressman, Glen Beck's show on CNN's Headline News, Nov. 14, 2006 (Source)

7. "Al Gore's not going to be rounding up Jews and exterminating them. It is the same tactic, however. The goal is different. The goal is globalization...And you must silence all dissenting voices. That's what Hitler did. That's what Al Gore, the U.N., and everybody on the global warming bandwagon [are doing]." –"The Glenn Beck Program," May 1, 2007 (Source)

8. "So here you have Barack Obama going in and spending the money on embryonic stem cell research. ... Eugenics. In case you don't know what Eugenics led us to: the Final Solution. A master race! A perfect person. ... The stuff that we are facing is absolutely frightening." –"The Glenn Beck Program," March 9, 2009 (Source)

9. "You have the artwork of Mussolini there, here in New York at Rockefeller Plaza." –analyzing the artwork decorating Rockefeller Plaza, which he said contained a hammer and sickle, Glenn Beck show on FOX News Channel, Sept. 2, 2009 (Source)

10. "O-L-I-G-A-R-H-Y." –misspelling "oligarchy" on his chalk board while claiming he had deciphered a secret code that he said was proof President Obama was trying to create an "Oligarhy," Aug. 27, 2009, Glenn Beck show on FOX News Channel (Source)

And some Coulter Classics:
1. "I don't really like to think of it as a murder. It was terminating Tiller in the 203rd trimester. ... I am personally opposed to shooting abortionists, but I don't want to impose my moral values on others." --on the murder of Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller, FOX News interview, June 22, 2009

2. "We just want Jews to be perfected, as they say." --arguing that it would be better if we were all Christian

3. "If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women. It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care -- and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'"

4. "If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."

5. "I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards but you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot." --at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference

6. "I'm more of a man than any liberal."

7. "These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband's deaths so much." -on 9/11 widows who have been critical of the Bush administration

8. "We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee. That's just a joke, for you in the media."

9. "Liberals love America like O.J. loved Nicole."

10. "There are a lot of bad republicans; there are no good democrats."
