The Olympics have been going for a day and still no post.

Does anyone care about the Olympics anymore?

I watched the opening ceremony and thought it was nothing really spectacular. We have seen it all before in other opening ceremonies for sporting events.

I will watch a few of the sports like maybe some swimming (always good for a perve). But mostly, I don't really care for the Olympics.

But still, cmon the Aussies.

Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi.

Really? I thought the opening ceremony was mind-blowing. Especially the torch run/fly and lighting. I've never seen anything that dramatic before. I, for one, was impressed.

i hate the shouting sound oi oi oi, its so annoying.

the olympics are gonna be fucking great. the opening ceremony was insane. it's just sports all day, it doesn't get much better unless they all did their sport shirtless

I thought the torch lighting was mind-blowing, but overall the opening ceremonies were nice, but didn't live up to all of the hype. I think NBC's coverage was lackluster.

I thought Matt Lauer was an odd pairing for Bob Costas. Plus the jumping to commercials during the parade of nations was very distracting.

I must admit I'm not much of a one for opening and closing ceremonies. I was sort of half watching it - but to me the Olympics is all about SPORT not bloody ceremonies.

Anyway - it's started. :D

Both the Mens and Womens Road Cycling has been fascinating. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to ride in the conditions the girls were facing.

Some good performances in the swimming too. Track and field, swimming, triathlon, marathon, cycling are the things I'll be watching most keenly.

Things I won't watch include: Dressage - about as interesting as watching paint dry - and although they are very clever, take a lot of ability etc - I really can't get stirred up about synchronised swimming or rythymic gymnastics either. Still there's a LOT of great sport going to be on over the next couple of weeks\:/.

I shall be walking around with Olympic Rings around my eyes like I do every 4 years...

Oh my, this is Horse Country in Kentucky .... there are entire restaurants bringing in extra televisions just to carry the dressage events. LOL!

Just a shallow side-note: the entire U.S. men's gymnastics team is HOT!!!

Men's indoor volleyball was a little stressful to watch, though.

Sorry Snaps (well, we all have to be different). The whole equestrian thing is a total borefest to me - but the Dressage especially so...

That said - last time I heard, the Aussies were doing very well...

i'll admit it. Men's gymnastics is really the only part i was actually looking forward to. taped yesterday's events to watch later. from what i saw of the team there were some definate cuties....but nobody's really stood out for so far except Kevin Tan. hotness aside, you can't help but admire these guys(and girls) for the things they're able to do with their bodies.

anybody else miss Blaine Wilson? probably the sexiest male gymnast EVER imo

^Oh yeah, I remember Blaine. There was also another guy on his team back in the day -- I don't remember his name. Blond, kinda bulky, but really cute.

I almost had a heart attack watching the men's 400m relay. So glad Lezak pulled it out! The French shouldn't have talked smack!

I heard somebody on the radio today saying that
Phelps pulled his swimsuit down to "his nether regions"
after the recent win.

Anybody have video of that?

Heehee....well you could tell he shaves his pubes, and showing the top of his ass crack, nothing we havent seen before!

I'm so happy US Men's gymnastics won a medal! They were close to silver, but oh well. Considering the odds against them from the beginning, any medal is good. I have huge crushes on Raj and Sasha!

Actually, I think you'll find you mean Russian hotness Alexei Nemov, gymnast du jour at Atlanta in '96 with a total medal count of 4 golds, 2 silver and 6 bronze in '96 and in Sydney.

I'll forgive you this once, but don't let it happen again! :D

Gentlemen - may I please remind you - the Sports Forum is for discussions about SPORT (not how hot certain athletes may or may not be).

If you want to talk about that - it belongs in either Male Celebs or Hot Men etc - possibly depending on how well known they are. ;)
