OMG Britney

In all fairness, she looked rather sexy. . . in a 1960's sorta way. But not by today's "anorexia is beauty" standards. Aside from her looks, it's her lack of talent that makes me ridicule her.

I just think the entire thing is very sad.

From the beginning, back in the "Hit Me Baby One More Time" days, Brit was marketed as a young, coming of age virgin. Complete with Catholic girl school uniform and bottom lip biting 'come hither' looks...She was every 14-year old boys wet dream.

Somewhere along the line, that image turned into a prototype for girls of the same age, and the songs, not at all by accident, followed the progression.

"I'm not quite a girl, not yet a woman", or whatever it was, spoke directly to the early teen girl set, and suddenly Brit was a role model for an entire generation.

This is more than a little disturbing when you think about it.

For what the public saw was not a person, but rather a marketed creation, calculated to wring every possible cent out of a music buying public. I'm sure Britney felt every bit like a prop, or a 'piece of meat' during the entire experience.

Who can blame her for lashing out toward the end of things ? "Hey, bitches...I've put up with this shit for long enough, I've got money and I'm damn sure going to do what I can to make up for the emptiness I've felt inside for years now'

Except, now that the drugs are taking their toll and her 'hoo ha' has been spread across the Internet, her proverbial 'cherry' has long since been popped, and no amount of marketed calculations can do any good.

Except, of course, to use what's left of her to make one last ratings boon for MTV's lastest VMA's.

See ya, Brit. There's plenty of 14 year olds that are just dying to take your place.

Opinions?

- Where was the magician guy?

What I am hearing now is that Chris Angel did come up with something for Britney but the people at the VMA's nixed it.

So far just about everyone has been blamed except Britney Spears.. Sarah Silverman got blamed for a joke she hadn't even told yet, MTV was blamed for putting her on stage in the first place, Chris Angel for coming up with a routine where Britney would fly (We'll keep the "when pigs fly" jokes to a minimum for the moment) and Pay Less got blamed for selling her shoes with heels unable to take the extra weight.

I'm surprised they haven't blamed the fact that the moon was in the seventh house and Juptier was alinged with Mars.

Britney Spears sucked because she put on weight, didn't know the dance steps, didn't know the words to her song, didn't put any effort into what she was doing, was probably a bit drunk and was lip syncing to a really bad, boring and poorly-produced song which was obviosuly an attempt to repeat the success of "Sexy Back."

It's her fault that her career is pretty much over and people have to stop blaming other people for it. What is it with this "Who pissed in my pants" mentality that people seem to have.

Yup, that's probably the best and most accurate description I have read about the event.
Britneys career, may it rest in peace.

>>>I'm surprised they haven't blamed the fact that the moon was in the seventh house and Juptier was alinged with Mars.

Well, that's obviously not the case here, Soil. Otherwise peace would guide the planet, and love would steer the stars.

As far as I'm concerned, it accomplished precisely what it was supposed to do.

Did more people watch the VMAs? Check.
Did even more people clamor to see the footage online afterwards? Check.
Are people aware of Britney's existence again? Check.
Were millions of people exposed to a song that may not hav e had a chance at radio or MTV? Check.
Are her fans shoring up support for her in droves? Check.
Will people be tuning in next time she's "performing" on TV to see what will happen? Check.

Interesting post, make you think, hmmmmmmmmmm..|

This guy doesn't seem too happy about the slander, either.

 OMFG this dude is in worse shape than she is. He looks like he might be a Britney impersonator. Now I feel for both of them.

Viacom has pulled everything off of YouTube, so if you missed it, you missed it. For now. Until the next person uploads their Britney Tivo, this pretty much sums it up.

My opinion of Ms. Spears and her so-called "talent" can be summed up in the following illustration:

A picture being worth a thousand (mimed) words, and all that.
