I was late paying my cell phone bill, so when I went to check voicemail, I got connected to customer service regarding my account status. I have no problem with them using this technique to get customers to bring their accounts up to date, but I had to endure several times being put on hold. The music was not only hideous, but loud enough, I thought it was going to blow my little phone speaker!
I don't understand why companies think we have to be "entertained" while waiting for someone to come back on the line. I would much rather have silence instead of being subjected to what they "think" I will enjoy! ](*,)](/images/smilies/bang.gif)
