Neil did break his hip. He is going into surgery later today.
They'll know more after surgery.
He's going to be in the hospital for at least a few days - again, they will know better later, since this isn't like elective surgery.

No problem, I know that many of you were anxious for news of Neil's condition. I'm sure that if/when DonQuixote hears more news he will post it here himself or email myself (and others) and I will post it if I can.

DQ does go above and beyond helping us with our 'family' here at JUB. Keeping us connected. It is good of him.

I do hope Neil heals up well and the surgery goes well. As an encouraging note, I met a 54 year wife of a biking friend over the holidays and she said her replacement hip is supposed to last fifty or sixty years, so much better materials.

Look forward to more info as Neil recovers and gets better. DQ if you plan on sending something to Neil while he recovers then please let us know so we might contribute if we wish.

Dammit, just heard. Bright blessings and good wishes for a speedy recovery to one of the best people on JUB.

I say thank GODS he doesn't have to worry about how to pay for treatment, since he's not the wealthiest among us and hip surgery is expensive. I'm very glad I had extremely good insurance when I had my hip replacement, or I wouldn't be walking with such blithe freedom today.
