  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

On my way to the hospital

Brand name for Codone.

Motrin = Ibuprofen
Bayer = Aspirin in the US, Aspirin is still a brand in Canada

etc.

Neil, I hope you are doing okay. Thank you for the information. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

^ Doing better, although still 'blocked up'. On my way to the doctor in a few hours to get the staples removed. I'll ask for some recommendations for 'gentle' laxatives.

Neil, I am a big believer in good old fashioned prunes. What I do is buy the dried prunes that they sell to eat, and warm them in a saucepan with some water. The prunes soften up and release their flavour. The leftover water in the saucepan is also good to drink, as it has prune juice in it. If you prefer to take prune juice instead of the dried prunes, have it cold from the refrigerator. Of course, if you do not like prunes, then there is always milk of magnesia. That is gentle, and it ALWAYS works!

Not blocked up anymore. The situation solved itself about a half hour before the trip to the clinic. I'm not taking the percocets anymore. The prescription says 'as necessary'. They aren't necessary anymore.

Staples are out now. Interesting little buggers. The nurse said the incision looked really good and clean. I took that as good news.

My left leg is now shorter than it was a few weeks ago. I thought it was just my imagination, but I would be willing to make bet on it now.

My right leg was shorter than my left. When I stood flat-footed, I tilted to the right. Now, when I stand flat-footed, I'm perpendicular to the floor.

I guess that means I'm a bit shorter, too.

^Neil, that is quite common after a hip-replacement, remember no two persons legs are ever the exact length in the beginning.
After undergoing such major surgery, it is to be expected that you would lose a small amount of height in your left femur.
Great to find you in good spirits. Adam....|

TIP: Perpendicular is better than parallel.

Exemplary wit in the last several posts, all of you.

Congratulations on your continued recovery gsdx.
