When I get home from work I take my shoes off as soon as possible.
 
When we got our condo, we instituted "Japanese shoe rule" - everyone has to take their shoes off when they come in. It's kept the rugs and floors a lot cleaner.

the "no shoe rule" is quite pratical. I usually take mine off, not so much for cleanliness purposes, but they usually hurt my feet. I honestly don't understand why shoemakers seem to like to make women's shoes hurtful to our feet. :(
 
I usally have only two pairs of shoes - my walking/tennis shoes, and my "I'm wearing a suit" shoes.

Amongst my many pairs of shoes....I LOVE my boots. 4 pairs of cowboy boots, 1 pair of "biker" boots, a pair of "snow" boots, and finally a pair of hiking/climbing boots.
 
I have 8 pair of sneakers, 2 pair of dressy shoes, 4 pair of boots, and sandals.
 
At this moment, I honestly couldn't tell you how many pairs of sandals I have...they're all in a pile in the corner of my room
 
I hate sandals AND flipflops. Real shoes or barefoot for me. No in between.
 
I think I've owned one pair of sandals/flip-flops between 1980 and now. I bought them because I had some sort of "shoe problem" after walking to the mall, and needed something to walk home in.
