No way they are gay. Two gay men would never wear those clothes.

found this in the comments section from your link, pretty much sums up my feelings

"Let the little ones who watch Sesame Street enjoy the program without having it politicized by adults."

This is simply ridiculous. I totally agree with the idea of "Let the little ones who watch Sesame Street enjoy the program without having it politicized by adults."

I understand "teaching kids equality' and stuff... but there are better ways and other forums through which we can do this.

I mean honestly, they aren't even a couple, people just ASSUME they are. Grow up people. Destroy this petition now.

Please get rid of this fucking petition and find something else to do.

It's horrible, in my opinion, that what was just a joke, an internet meme, is now being turned into some big thing. I'd rather have children see that two friends can live together - and it be just that. They don't need to be a fucking couple.

(yes, i'm ANNOYED by this, even if I laugh when I see what they did to the duo on Family Guy)

I think this pretty much settles it. If none of them have a sexual orientation, it would seem out of place to make them a couple.

Kermie and Miss Piggy have been an item for years. It's a well-known fact! ;)

Never gonna happen and I agree it's a stupid idea.

Sorry but this is wrong. Marriage should be between one frog and one pig.

Well, I'm honestly not very familiar with these shows but I thought they were on an entirely different show.

They were. Kermit was created in 1955 and joined Sesame Street in 1969. Miss Piggy didn't appear until 5 years later. Her first TV appearance was on the Herb Alpert and the TJB show in 1974 and starred in The Muppet Show beginning in 1976.

She never appeared on Sesame Street.

As far as I know, Ernie and Bert were always best friends and roommates.

Wow! Some [STRIKE]politico-fags[/STRIKE] gay rights activists are so obssessed with the whole gay marriage thing that they seem to think the whole world revolves around the issue.

For fuck sake leave Bert and Ernie alone!

I think they should have anal sex first to learn if they are sexually compatible.

Anal sex would probably be a disappointment after having someone's arm shoved up their asses for the past 42 years.

The problem I have with this is that people associate being gay with sex automatically. Children that watch this program are in their 2's and 3's, they have no business attempting to understand that. If its being introduced by anyone other than their parents who can take the time to talk with them and give them a perspective they may understand, then it has the potential to open doors that shouldn't be opened.

If this were an adult, or hell, even a teen program, I could understand. Homosexuality is going to be a sensitive issue for some time now and if we don't give it the proper means to foster a healthy attitude from everyone, then it is going to backfire and set us back.

Children's shows can teach equality in a broad sense and still get their point across. There's no need to introduce concepts beyond their scope of reason yet.

Aren't they all supposed to be hermaphrodites?

^They're SUPPOSED to be asexual and mainly immortal. :(
