I also should make a little clip about how I hold the razor and figure out a way to position the camera so I can use both hands. When I'm smoothing it all out My free hand precedes the razor, I glide my fingers in front of it so I know where the stuble is. I also have like four different ways of holding hte stick and blade depending on the area I'm shaving.

THe most difficult to explain to people is holding the stick so my palm faces my scalp. my pinky is beneath the stick, ring on top. and my middle and index finger resting over the blade to apply the pressure in a specific manner. My finger tips also hang off hte back a little and follow along on the scalp to help guage what tension I'm applying and if I need ot repeat the stroke to get more stubble.

I don't know. Sounds to me like it would be a whole lot easier and a lot less work just to let it grow.
