Exactly. I hear homophobic comments in the class. Xenophobic comments. You all know it is not pleasurable to hearing that. And I don't wanna be "the gay one". It is also true that there are people in the class who are mature enough to not care or treat me differently. I am just who I am and that's all. But the bad thing is having to spend the atelier time with such kids. Hopefully in 2 weeks' time school will be off for exams and then summertime and something will be different in September.
Not wanting to be treated differently is not a valid excuse. That's cowardice. Do you think any of us want to be treated differently? That didn't stop us. And no, you're not just "who you are and that's all" because you're forfeiting a part of yourself, sacrificing it. Man up.
Sorry if I tried to avoid such problems as i have lots of other problems with family friends (see the other post) and so on. Sorry if I tought life could be easier not telling everyone everything of me. SOrry if an homophobic asshole comes to a gay party and then shows hate for gay people and I happen to be the one in the centre of attention. And sorry if I have ignorant, homophobic and xenophobic classmates who thinks mispelling the name of god is cool (I am agnostic but it bothers me anyway: no respect!)

I didn't mean that I am against people who do not respect god. I don't mind aboud god. The problem is that mispellins god' name you have no respect of the ones who believe in him. Got it?
You shouldn't do so just because some people may be offended by it... and trying to behave respectfully is a sign of maturty.

A person being agnostic doesn't mean that he would have to approve the disrespecful acts of others towards god. Not to mention that mispelling the name of god for "fun", can be very offensive to the believers. Being in the closet has nothing to do with this what so ever.

Saymyname, I think you've misunderstood what shystud was saying. No one is expecting you to follow the rules of the religion whom you do not belief in. However, the act of mocking others religion in any way shows that you are disrespectful and immature, regardless of what religion it is. That's the same as discrimating against other races, gender, age and sexuality.
If a religious person expects me to "respect" their insane beliefs, and they get offended if I don't spell the name of their 'god' correctly (as he has done a good job of not explaining what he means by that), I think they're pushing their religion on me.
