I really can't understand how someone can be SO gay that they'd rather spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to have a baby, when you can just make one for free. I mean, i'm not attracted to girls, but at least it'd feel good. MMF that shit, or something.

In a perfect world this would surely be correct. But there are parts of the world (including the US) where there are definite advantages for gay couples who are both biologically related to their children.

Pending any other ethical issues, I don't see anything wrong with the idea itself. My first reaction to reading the headline though is Homosexuals already have their own children just not from each other, most from previous marriages or adoptions. While this technology sounds very promising, I think the world is better served providing homes for the children who don't have parents.

Now the ideas of providing means of cloning organs and medical advancements are quite interesting and can't imagine why the UN would be against such research. Any medical technology can be abused that shouldn't stand in the way of the good uses that may come from it.
