PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good night everyone (*8*)
I came back yesterday. The organ academy run smoothly, We had many students from previous years, and some new. Everyone was nice and we had some good times.
But after 6 days I was sick of it, I don't like being surrounded by people all the time.
I hope you all had a good week.

Good Saturday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're doing well after the organ academy, and that your organ playing assignments are going well. Or do you get a break at this time of the year? I know what you mean about being around so many people for a long time, after a while it drains you. "I've had my couple of days of fun, now I want to go home!"

Good evening, John. Thanks for posting (*8*)
Actually I don't have any fixed breaks or holidays, but I did it. I've spent 4 days on a trip to France, I visited Nîmes and Avignon. I just returned home earlier this evening.
I'll try to post some pics from my phone.
I hope you had a good start of the week.

Bonjour, mon ami!
The language is doubly appropriate because I'm posting from New Orleans, Louisiana. Lots of French heritage and street names, even if most of the French I've heard spoken came from tourists.
I was here for Southern Decadence weekend and am posting details in my thread. I planned to spend a few days afterwards in New Orleans too, and I'm glad I did. I like the crowds and excitement...but I find I really like New Orleans under quieter circumstances.

Good Sunday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm happy to hear that you got a chance to visit in France. It looks like a wonderful country to tour. And I hope you're doing well with getting organ gigs.

Good evening, John (*8*)
I know France very well, I spent 3 years there and after that I've visited several times.
I like their monuments, their museums, their landscapes... great places to visit.
But I don't like their way of life. The bureaucracy... the expensive (junk) food... the fake politeness... the lame tv shows

Buen Dia Paul , espero que tengas un favorable Martes y una agradable semana tambien

Hi Paul!
Thank you for the critique of France! I visited once long ago, but only to Paris. If I can afford another European trip, there are so many places I want to see. Maybe explore my "roots" in England, Wales, and Ireland...all the history of Italy...and of course the cuisine and hospitality of Spain and Portugal. As it is, though, I'm staying stateside. A weekend in Nashville in October, and a big trip in November to Cleveland, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas.
Hope you are well and happy and making music. I don't do that enough!

Good evening everyone (*8*)
This weekend has been busy, but it's finally over. Maybe tomorrow I'll stay home all day.
This week I must absolutely visit an archaeological exhibition before it closes!

OK, Paul. I went to that naked poetry reading tonight

It was only $10 and was easy to get to, one block from the Huntingdon El station. Horrible neighborhood, but a modern clean artist studio
Tommy the poet was naked from the start, a big guy with big balls. His poems were from his experiences, including one about big balls, of course. I liked him.
The audience was only a few. With hundreds of performances in the city this month, I guess it got lost in the crowd. But Mike was there, an attractive fair-haired well-hung man. We "flirted."
When it was done we dressed, bid Tommy goodbye, and went our ways.
No, it wasn't a "happy ending." Maybe almost....
But it was fun. Guilt-free. I'm glad I went.

There's another week for Fringe Festival and two shows I want to see. I promise to share details

Good Monday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you go see that archaeological exhibit this week-- it should be interesting. I also hope you have other interesting activities lined up.

First of all, the exhibit has been prolonged until the end of the year. But since I was already decided, I went to see it today.
I was disappointed. The exhibit mostly consisted of a virtual tour, and only a few actual pieces.
But the permanent collection has been renovated and it looks great. And the outdoor excavations are always outstanding. See for yourselves:

The exterior wall has a big cock sculpted near the door, which you can see here:

Good Monday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I see you enjoyed touring the archaeological digs, though the exhibit was disappointing. BTW, that's a great pic, handsome! (y) I like your choice of background, with those horny Romans sculpting their cocks on the wall.

Hi Paul! This is what passes for history here...Christ Church in Old City Philadelphia, completed 1754.
20240929_165758.jpgIt is lovely, but I bet you don't consider it very old.
I saw two shows last weekend at the Neighborhood House, the building to the left. It dates from 1911. Both were gay-related, a comedy and a solo musical, and both fun.
