PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good Wednesday morning/afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm glad you're getting out and doing rewarding things like swimming and getting a night out on the town.

Yes, I like plants, and it's good to see that you finally got some rain. I have some potted papaya plants that seem to be struggling a bit. I brought them in for our recent cold snap. They've been struggling a bit lately. I had thought they were getting enough water, since it rained a bit before I brought them in. But when I was taking them back out, the soil was bone dry. I normally keep them under a large mango tree, so they must have been in a spot that deflected the rain away from them.

Good evening Michael, Christian and John. (*8*)
Thank you John. I enjoy the little everyday things, like gardening, swimming, taking a walk, shopping.
I hope you all had a good day and a good week so far.
BTW I looove this guy :luv:

Good Monday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm glad you enjoy all the little pleasures of life. I have an amaryllis that has given me two beautiful blooms on my patio. I potted them several years ago in an effort to save them and let them grow, and I'm always happy when I see my efforts rewarded.

Good evening John, Andrew and Christian. (*8*)
I had an Amaryllis once but it didn't survive for long. This year I'm very careful with my plants, specially my lilies. I hope they will bloom in spring.
I had a pretty good week, I had some pain in my right ankle but now it's gone

Good Thursday night/Friday morning, Paul! (*8*)

It's hard for me to generalize amaryllis growing advice, since I don't really know where in Spain you live. I understand that the interior highlands, in places like Madrid, get cold and have snow in the winter, so you'd have to provide cold protection, probably keeping them in pots and bringing them in. The areas along the Mediterranean are supposedly quite mild, so you probably could let amaryllis grow outdoors year-round there.

I'm finding that here in Florida, gardening is still very much a trial and error proposition, with some things doing fantastically well, and others failing completely.

I hope you're doing well, and your ankle doesn't bother you.

Good evening John and Andrew (*8*)
I live in the Mediterranean area, in the NE of Spain, 50 km from the sea. But still we can have some very cold temperatures, like we're having these days. I have my plants out in a balcony which has a roof and a side wall, so they're not completely exposed. But very often I just try something and see what happens...

Good evening RM, John and Christian. I hope you had a good day (*8*)

I'm doing well. I bet my plants are taking the cold better than myself... I cover them with a sheet every night!

Christian I have a bigger banana he can sit on

Hi everyone, good evening! (*8*)
It's been a busy day but everything was good.
Maybe tonight won't be as cold as the previous nights... just maybe...
