PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good evening John, Tucker and Thad (*8*)
I'm glad you like my pictures. As you know I'm passionate about archaeology. I've been to that museum and digs many times (it's only 40km from home) and I never miss the Roman cock on the wall  Apparently it was considered as a protection against evil eye and all sort of misfortune.

Thad you are right, it's not very old to me. What strikes me is that it looks very modern for the 1750! Over here we were still in full Baroque style at that time.

I really do appreciate you sharing your excursions! I’ve been to all the historical sites in Israel, Turkey, Asia Minor, Greece, Scotland, Wales, and Egypt. Most cultures have phallic symbols in their architecture and religious sites.
All intriguing and beautiful! Tuck

Good Thursday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm glad you have a lot of interesting archaeology near you. Here in the States we really don't have much in comparison. That Philadelphia church is typical of a lot of American Protestant churches, which were deliberately built simple, to contrast with the ornate Catholic Churches. I would not be surprised if in places like Spain, they kept emphasizing the baroque style in reaction to that.

Have a good weekend!

Philadelphia was the only place in the British Empire in the 1730s where the Catholic mass could be publicly celebrated. Yet even our old Catholic churches (Old St. Joseph's, especially) are rather simple.
My experience with old Philadelphia churches is a bit personal. I went to Christmas mass at Old St. Joseph's with a guy I was dating. Later, I dated the minister of our oldest Methodist church. (He was reassigned to Maryland, alas.)

Good evening Tuck, John, Thad and Dan (*8*)
I hope you had a good weekend.
It was quite busy for me, but I was able to relax this evening.

Good Friday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you have a great weekend. Do you have any interesting organ or choir performances coming up?

Good evening John, Andrew (*8*)
You won't believe it, but last night I had a date, something that hadn't happened in maybe 3 years. I was never an expert, and I'm not getting any better at it  I had imagined it more like a hook-up thing, but the dinner and never ending convo definitely looked like a date. Finally we got to my place and had some fun.

My next concert is in 2 weeks, when I play with an amateur orchestra. I hope it works better than our previous concert together :ROFLMAO:

I hope you're enjoying the weekend.

Hola Paul , espero tengas un buen Lunes mas tarde , yo no lo paso nada bien donde vivo , la situacion personal y familiar se pone mas chunga cada dia

Take care buddy

Good Thursday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm sorry I'm responding so late, but I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your hot date. Have you had any luck since then, perhaps a follow-up date or two?

I'm trying to get caught up, since my computer was out for repairs for awhile. Hope everything is going well with you.

No, we haven't seen each other again. I think he told me he was taking a trip this weekend
I wasn't expecting anything serious tbh...

Today I played the last wedding of the season in a nearby town. Hopefully I can rest until april or may

We had a storm last night, and some more rain during the day. People are gonna be pissed since its our town festival, but...

Gracias por escribir Paul
Que tengas un agradable fin de mes mas tarde

Hi Paul!
I'm home from a wonderful weekend in Nashville. Music, hockey, the Southern Festival of Books...so much for one weekend!
I did get rained on Saturday morning. But otherwise perfect.
Have a good week!

Good Saturday morning, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're doing OK. The flooding in Spain is terrible, but it sounds like it's a bit south of you, so I hope it's missed you.

Good evening, John (*8*)
Yes, we are safe here. Thank you for your good thoughts.

Paul, I'm glad to know you are OK. Photos from Valencia are scary and I can't imagine worse than drowning in a parking garage.

I'm well and enjoying a cool peaceful weekend.

Good Saturday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope all is well with you. I expect that soon you may have some performances for Advent and Christmas coming up?
