Maybe it's her book tour, or the fact that recent polls have shown majorities saying the press has treated her unfairly, but Sarah Palin's favorability numbers improved in the latest poll by CNN/Opinion Research, with those that see her in a positive or negative light matched evenly at 46 percent each, according to a CNN/Opinion Research poll conducted Dec. 2-3. Ten percent had no opinion and 6 percent say they never heard of her.

In October, Palin was seen unfavorably by 52 percent of Americans and favorably by 42 percent. Last July, that negative ratio was 48 percent to 39 percent.

This explains why it’s so cold here. Hell froze over.

On the other hand the numbers saying the responders had never heard of these people is just sad. Good thing they are allowed to vote. :dead:

President Palin.

It has a nice ring to it.

that "ring" is an alarm ;)

come on now

almost finishing your term as gov of alaska, not being able to interview with katie couric and being a genuine primadonna as vp candidate does not constitute president material

she can make her book money for all i care - it's a free country

she can go on the view or oprah or whatever

i think it stinks that douchebags like david letterman, he of the "i have sex with many women that work for me" club, go way over the line in attacking her

she has in many ways been a victim of an anti conservative media

but she was not, is not, and will not be qualitified for pres anytime soon

and let's not pretend she's got the goods ok?

as for popularity going up (still not high) i would say people are fickle and she's not a threat to people whereas when she was on the ticket or if she were running for office, she would be a threat

2012 is becoming more scary each day. Obama has an uphill battle to preserve his popularity that long. He's already losing ground. In 3 years, there quite possibly will be enough far right weirdos to muster up enough votes for Palin to boot Obama from the White House. That would be an unprecedented political embarrassment. I'd rather hope that the Mayan's were correct.

Maybe Palin IS the end of the world.

I mean hell, she actually believes the Biblical apocalypse is imminent. There's no telling what she would do with her hand on the button.

Just a little more, and she'll be as popular as Hillary!

She needs to work on her unfavorable rating to match Clinton, though -- it needs to be higher.

Ever stop at a store to but your fave drink for the road, only to find they don't have it? So you settle for what they do have, because you don't want to go searching?
That's why Palin's popular: there just isn't anything else on the shelf.

Oh -- and she''s not an intelligent black man, which makes her instantly preferable to a serious chunk of America right off the blocks.

I know why she'd like to be president, though: she figures she can get Alaska cut loose from the Union. She'd probably achieve that it the third year of her term.

Then she'd resign, and go be the Ice Queen.

If she's right, and the Apocalypse comes, I say we all go up to God and say, hey -- did You really say we're all going to Hell? If not, would you please send her? 'Cause if You keep her in Heaven, we'd like to go to the other place anyway, because it won't make much difference.

The thing I would fear about a Palin presidency isn't that she isn't fit for office. What I fear is that she'd almost certainly be picking high-level appointees from a certain house on C Street.

The notion that this woman even registers on the political spectrum is alarming. Outside of the U.S. she's little more than a bad joke, it's as funny as it is horrifying that someone so phenomenally and wilfully ignorant has even the remotest shot at the presidency.

I think John Cleese says it best:

I mean look, if you recall this country elected Bush, twice. They are capable of electing a poor choice as president, the likes him, again, and they likely will.

cheap shot

bush and palin are nothing alike except perhaps neither seems particularly curious

he was elected because he was NOT deemed to be extreme and he was not polarizing

good old boy

he was excellent in his first term IMO - maybe good is the word i am looking for

then it went bad

not sure the current president will be as good as gwb was in term 1

we will see

cheap shot nonetheless

and you're better than that

The current prez dude is not qualified either. A year of so in the Senate before he started running for president. At least Palin has some administrative experience.

You are as naive as she is ignorant. She is greedy, a liar, vicious when she doesn't get her own way, impulsive--giving up on 6 2 year colleges and breaking her oath of office in Alaska. She does have energy. No wonder, she guzzles Red Bull all day. She is a caffeine adict. I passed this on to CNN. A year later David Letterman in his thanksgiving jokes mentioned that Palin marinates her turkeys in Red Bull.:^o

But the current "prez" isn't so ridiculously ignorant that he believes the world to be 6,000 years old (there are buildings in my home country more than twice that age). The current "prez" isn't some vapid wing nut who wants pseudo scientific garbage like "Creationism" taught in schools.

Thus far, I'm not the biggest fan of Obama; I think he and his administration are proving to be woefully ineffective owing to his pig-headed adherence to "centrist" philosophy. The raw fact of the matter is he is going to have to commit some actions that are going to upset great swathes of the electorate if he doesn't want to be remembered as one of the "lame duck" presidents. I also think that their failure thus far to collect on promises in various fields is of concern.

I'd still prefer him in the white house to someone like Palin, who is too short sighted and myopic to even acknowledge the world outside of her own woefully narrow belief system.

let's not make underqualified or not qualified a prerequisite then ;)

comparing her to obama (whom u don't care for and don't think was/is qualified) is hardly a ringing endorsement

bottom line is had john mccain never started this mess by trying to use her as a tool to get elected ....................

she'd still be gov of alaska and not as rich

pres palin?

good god

The thought of Palin sounding nice in 2010 is like bet wet dream. What does she bring to world of politics? She writes a book that now sells for less the $5.00. Those of far right see her as leader. But if that what the country wants. Let the voter beware.
