"Paranormal Acitivity" Movie [merged]

I thought for all the hype, the movie didn't deliver. Neither ending was really scary. It just seemed like it tried too hard to be the next "Blair Witch." I wish I came in on the last 45:00 minutes cause that's the movie. The begining was just :zzz::zzz:!
 
Paranormal Activity Getting A Sequel?!

It scared the pants off of people all weekend, so we wouldn't put it past the studio to go for round two!

Paranormal Activity may be getting a sequel, say the people over at Paramount. The studio says they are "exploring" all options.

The little $15,000 movie that could, made $67 million domestically this weekend, making it quite possibly the most profitable movie in Paramount history!

Damn!

So it seems stupid not to try for that same success again! Question is, can they do any better than the original?

Would U want to see a sequel?

So true...The movie was pretty good, but the effect it had on my first two nights after seeing it was awesome...

I live in an apartment where you ALWAYS hear random noises, and even though I knew it was the people upstairs or the wind outside making the windows creak, there was always something in the back of my mind telling me differently...

I agree that it wasn't the scariest movie of all time, but the simplistic way it delivers scare tactics was pretty cool...

Oh, and if the sequel is anywhere close to the steamy pile of poo that was "The Blair Witch Project 2", then axe that shit now...Hahaha...
 
ok so i saw i b4 it was released nationwide and they changed it for the nationwide debute and the origional is muchh scarier
 
Okay, so I jus got finished watching it -- and I thought it was pretty good. Definitely NOT "the scariest movie of all time" - but it was pretty creepy/wild/scary (to a certain degree). Was kinda slow but had some moments that made me jump and had me fairly freaked out to a good amount. The part where the chick got dragged out of the bed was wild...and the ending was pretty scary/crazy.

......and LMAO @ the psychic jetting out of the house all fast...saying he couldn't stay and had to leave right away. :lol: LOL he was like hell nah...some freaky bad shit is about to go down I gotta go. :rotflmao: Too funny.

Do you feel this particular Horror Flick is worth $100 Million that it's going to gross?

If "Jeepers Creepers parts 1 & 2" could NOT rake in a measly $50 Million smackers COMBINED then it's obvious movie-goers don't know what "Scary" is...

Nah, I don't feel this movie is worth or deserving to make that much. I think it's all hype for the most part that is driving this film. It's doesn't live up to the hype, in my opinion. But it was a pretty good movie for me, nonetheless.
 
I think the last of those alternate endings listed above would've been best, stylistically.

The theatrical ending is too obviously a set up for a sequel, and drew snickers in the audience I was in. What a letdown.
 
i went to see this movie and didnt care for it at all. Too boring and not scary at all either. Blah. And please....no sequel!
 
Read in EW that Paramount bought this film for 350K with the intention of handing it over to a more experienced team for a remake. Wish that had happened.

"Paranormal Activity" has a great premise, but it is poorly executed.

It didn't live up to the hype. I understand that it was a low budget movie and all, but the acting sucked I'm sorry that's all I thought about the whole time, it was not convincing. I seriously laughed at the *SPOILER ALERT* burning "game" part (I didn't really give it away but those who watched it will know).

The movie came out during a strategic time, that's all. Got a head start and enough time to build hype before Halloween and it's something a little different, hence Saw VI being topped by the shitty ass excuse for a film.

lol....the burning game was a little comical. I was like, okay that's a bit much lol...
 
Saw it last night for half price. sold out audience which made it better. I don't if it is because I had just worked out and was tired and never really got into it but it didn't scare me.

I spent more time checking out the psychic ( i think he was hot looking) and hoping he would return ( and he did lol). than anything else.

Go on a cheap night. Too much hype for what it is but hey, i may go back and watch it again. why? i really liked the psychic and Katie has nice tits. hehe
 
they could do a decent sequel, micah is gone and katie is out somewhere, in the next one she is with some other guy and the demon comes back wherever they live, make it a cabin or something like that.

Omg, you actually thought the psychic was "hot"? lol...I dont even remember what he looks like exactly but I definitely know he wasn't "hot" to me. But different strokes for different folks, they say...:-)

Def my type, i like older men, he is over 50, solid built, etc Not the hottest guy i have seen but between him and Mica, the psychic comes to bed with me.
 
We rented this movie on New Years Eve. I must be highly suggestible because I have not slept very well since. I lay in bed at night and every single noise I hear that I probably have heard every night prior to seeing this movie freaks me out.

I have vowed never to watch another horror movie of any kind again, and that is no exaggeration.

This is a movie that gets into your head and is hard to shake. To anyone with a highly suggestible personality or to anyone who has ever had strange things happen to them in the past - think twice about watching this movie.

No lie - Im thinking of getting some counselling cuz Ive been so disturbed over it, or at the very least some sleeping pills.
