Paul Ryan is Mitt Romney's running mate?

@Chance:

Apropos this whole Ryan business, I have seen that no Republican in this thread wants to face the raw figures. I can do this for you.

They want to give us $6k in vouchers for premium support, and eliminate everything else. Well, Chance, I'm 50, and I can tell you that $6k will be absolutely worthless to us, because 1) no one will insure us and 2) if we are lucky to FIND anybody to insure us, the $6k will be a drop in the bucket; only the rich would be able to afford the rest of the premiums.

Why won't anybody admit this? It's the ugly truth.

Ur exactly right...for those under 55 at the time the exisiting plan (as written) would go i into law will get $6k in vouchers (what a joKe) and be on their own after that. It is going to be a big burden on our seniors (much worse that those death panels that they tried to scare us with). This plan is good for the country economically, no doubt, but a nightmare for the under 55 crowd when they hit retirment age.

And I have never seen insurance rates drop due to competitiveness. And let's use common sense: a person over 65 is a losing proposition for private insurance...insurance is in the business of making money....seniors need boatloads of medical care and are a huge burden to an insurance company...why would they ever want to insure a senior? For it to be worth their while, they would have to charge premiums over $3500 a month. Unless the govt were to mandate something (which is what I thought this particular ideology was about less govt), seniors would have few to no options.

Medicare is so important to the American way of life...it's a program we pay into from day 1 at work...it's an expectation and agreement that we have as citizens with our govt....it should be un-touchable. It should rank as being as critical to our survival as the most fundamental defense and security issues.

I'm feeling very frightened, Chance.

No one will insure us.

I think what'll end up happening is that millions of us will be left uninsured.

If Romney/Ryan take over the White House come November we all know Obamacare is GONE...Just do what most people do that don't have insurance...Go to the emergency room with all your health issues and The State Government will take your tax return when you file...

Or Plan B....

Find a job that offers health-care benefits or get a part time job and search for individual health care insurance from a Provider that offers it within your state...

Fixed it for you.

Which means that even if somebody 68 years old can afford to pay the $43,000 PER YEAR insurance premiums, his sorry fucking ass will be kicked out as soon as he gets cancer or chronic heart disease, or diabetes..."Awww, David, we're so sorry that we have to rescind your policy, but you're going to DIE and we can't insure you anymore."

Insurance companies are the true death panels.

And I still predict, though it has never been mentioned - because it would GUARANTEE the poll death of the Republican Party in November - but I firmly believe that if enough Republicans get into office, they will make SURE that the federal requirement of ER care for the indigent is repealed. GENOCIDE VIA PEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may just start calling them the Death Party.

*****************************
And if you actually believe that RobMe will actually run away from the basics of the Paul Ryan budget (when he could have picked any other VP out of a fairly large available pool), all I can say is LAY OFF THAT ACID, man.

CONSIDER THIS: Once Medicare is turned into a teetering and shaky PONZI SCHEME (because, after all, the Death Party LOVES Ponzi schemes!!!), I have no doubt that they will renege on Medicare even for people who have reached my age, because that Party is about NOTHING BUT LIES.

If this country actually votes them in, I am going to have (as an intelligent person) some real reservations about remaining in what will have become the most stupid country that has ever existed in human history. People who vote for that Party are voting for premature death, and confiscation of every bit of their wealth (unless they're part of the plutocracy).

I think they know that and they HAVE to know that they will eventually be FORCED to talk about it, but they may be attempting to stall as long as possible to get the maximum pre-convention bump out of the "honeymoon phase" and I can't really fault them for that. It's exactly what I would do!

You get no quibble with me on that, but it was interesting to see how the Romney surrogates handled it out of the gate. Some do it better than others, but they came across as mechanical and obvious. It must be said though, that David Gregory let them get away with it and never really pushed so....success?

GOP memo: ?Don?t say entitlement reform? - Alex Isenstadt - POLITICO.com

This article contains the memo to GOP candidates on what to do if they are forced to talk about it.
Medicare that is.
(still not taking sides)

Point 1: I already have a job that has benefits.I already have insurance.

You should have been clearer about your working status, medical benefits and your Age BEFORE you started crying like a baby and claiming you're afraid...You sound as if you're unemployed and broke...

Point 2: But sometime, I would like to retire.

So you havent signed up for 401k on your job? You don't have a savings, investments, future inheritance? You don't watch Suze Orman? You havent gone to her site?

You're actually telling me you're DEPENDING on the Government to have your back decades from now?....So you don't have a Plan B, C, D & E?......Wow, just wow...

Frank..If you didnt pre-pack your bags in 2000 when Dubya took office then made your move when he was re-elected in 2004, you're not gong anywhere anytime soon....

You're all invited to President Obama's ignauguration in January.

I think he was ignaurated long ago. He was born ignaurate and his steeping in Islam and his major in Marxism and rev Wright have made him even more ignaurate.

So he's an Atheist Communist, Muslim, Christian?

That's pretty ignaurate Ben.

Is that for me?...I thought I was a Log Cabin-er around here. I get tossed around from one end of the politcal spectrum to the other;)

Anyone who doesn't march in lockstep with the far right is a Socialist pinko don'tchaknow...

paul ryan is a dumb fuckin choice for romney, but nothing will save romney.

also: Palin isnt talkin at the RNC, neither is George Bush. What shameful pieces of shit in the GOP.

Well, Ben, you're still invited. Hope you will come. Bring your notepad and take notes.

i was watching some of Ed Schultz tonight and he was highlighting just how far the right Paul Ryan really is and just how much Ryan hates progressivism (and liberals). Ed had a clip of Ryan on Glenn Beck's radio show calling in for an interview where he stated his hatred and dislike for progressives, comparing them to a "cancer". Can't wait for the President's team and President Obama to give Ryan a proper "framing" for the American public.

^ can you please get the transcript - that's pretty out there and toxic
