According to international media and Czech authorities, he was arrested in Cuba in 2009 along with a male companion. He was deported in November after spending 6 months in jail there for time served. The incident occurred at the airport and involved a baseball bat and damage to the facility. Witnesses claim: "it was an argument between the men with homosexual overtones (i.e. intimate relationship between the men)." Reports say they were inebriated at the time.
