Re: Perez Hilton was just beat up in his hotel room
Of course things would be different if he was a girl. How is that supposed to be a big finger of shame on us?
No one ever said this was a gender-blind society. (Do you really think that if this was an altercation between two black "hip hop stars" it would get this much coverage? No!)
And no, his appearance/sexuality have NOTHING to do with this.
Someone getting punched after annoying someone bigger is not uncommon. You talk shit to some people, the wrong people, and they will get physical.
School playground, college, clubs (almost a nightly occurrence believe me). It's not humanity at its finest but it's the way of the world and silly to pretend otherwise.
And really the issue here, the bile as you say, comes from the fact that no one in the entertainment industry can more relateable to earning a punch in the face than this guy.
If he's gonna make his drama queen and try to pass as a gaybashed martyr, people are gonna call him on his BS.
This is the sort of guy who uses his homosexuality as a smokescreen to do/say whatever he wants because....well if you respond you're being a bigot. He likes to start these kinds of shit knowing he has that card in his pocket. Here people are just not falling for it. Douches getting put in their place is always something great to see. There was no real harm here so spare me the violence card.
That being said, I'm sure that if Perez Hilton was a cute blond boy or a girl with big tits, people wouldn't be celebrating his attack as much.
